Thanks guys! The wife comment wasn't about the manual shifter, she likes the GT350 (looks) more than the ZL1. But, it's my car...with only me in it 90% of the time. Just need to find a good deal on a 2018 non-1LE. I may hold off until next spring...we'll see.

I know, the shifter was an analogy example. At the end what is important is what do you like, no matter what the other persons opinions. It's for you and you need to be convinced that you did the right choice. I tried to please my wife with her request and at the end I was unhappy with the decision.



Both are great cars. Enjoy!

Cliff notes my 16 was in the shop for about 4 out of the first 6 months I had it including an engine replacement/plus a host of other issues. I should of never taken delivery of it, but after months of dealing with Ford I wanted to move on. My 17 was going to need an engine replacement for oil usage at/around 8k miles (after 2 drivers side half shaft replacements) so I had enough and ditched it. I have 8k on my ZLE with one track day and a lot of spirited driving. I've used roughly 1/2 a quart in that time. Some software bugs, but no reliability or bad fit and finish issues aside from some cheap feeling parts/it is a Chevy so what do you expect. Ford also has very cheap feeling switches etc in the interior as well.

As for driving comparisons, the GT350 is a lot of fun to drive, but tramlines a lot worse and understeers much more than my ZLE. I don't understand the rave reviews for the GT350 shifter either. It was very notchy and I prefer the ZLEs much better. It's not perfect, but a lot better IMO. The rev match on the ZL1s is awesome when I'm feeling lazy/commuting to work etc. The GT350 is the slowest feeling 500 plus HP car I've ever driven. The sound is awesome and the 8250 RPM redline is cool, but a lot harder to use on the street. I didn't think it was gutless under 4k, but you definitely had to rev past 5k to get some real speed out of the Voodoo. The LT4 makes power everywhere and 6th gear is actually usable in it. 6th is so tall in the GT350 you have a hard time accelerating under 60-65 without downshifting into 5th. I liked the Recaros in the GT350 better, but the creature comforts in the ZL1s are much nicer and I do like these Recaros a lot as well. Visibility wasn't great in the GT350 either so I'm not sure why the fan boys always bag on ZL1/Camaro for it. It is a little worse, but the ZL1s have blind spot monitoring, which wasn't an option on the 16/17 GT350s so it was harder for me to change lanes in that car, especially to the left of course. Both are fastbacks and both visibility is compromised negatively in each car.

I know you already made your decision, but hopefully this helps reinforce it one way or another.

Also agree about the visibility. They act like the 350 is a fish bowl or something.

Yup, never warm them up just start it and straight to red line when I leave my neighborhood for work in the morning.

I haven’t checked in over there for quite awhile, but I’m always amazed at how many fanboys there still are. And many with replaced engines etc etc. They still say it’s overblown.

Well as for the GT500....a friend of mine who is a salesman for a ford dealership said that they have 1 new GT500, and they want 25k over MSRP! 106k total. Complete BS. I really hate dealer markup.
