56K on my 1SS, had a spate of issues earlier this year, one after another. Finally had torque converter replaced under warranty after 2 flushes, then had injector issues on 1 bank. Then had starter wire fried on the starter heat shield, which now I'm certain was from the torque converter repair 2 months prior. I was pretty miffed at the whole situation, but now the car runs like a top. Decided to keep it.
Need to machine the rear rotors (some wobble at speed, did the fronts at 45K), change rear diff fluid, and it's getting close to time for a new battery and a set of tires before winter. All normal maintenance stuff. Oh yeah, lost the right fog light to a rat-chewed wire in the bumper, easy fix. Still love the car; it looks great, drives great and absolutely rips when you get on it. Nice car OP, sounds like you had a bit of bad luck with it. A lot of us have confidence in the motor holding up long term, but keep an eye out for the A8 shudder. I'd say that exhaust tab could be very easily rewelded, just have someone burn it back on and don't look back! |
