Glad you like Beaver. They're great! Much better than those douchebags on Atlantic

I get where you're coming from about it being a new phone. But, I've seen that movie before. Hell, I've starred in it. Just because the phone is new and works great "everywhere else" there's a distinct push to blame the car. Given that Apple has had more than its fair share of odd issues with BT (and they keep screwing with the settings of it from version to version as well), don't be surprised if an iOS update in the future results in the problem never coming back. Don't get me wrong... I'm not telling you that the problem ISN'T in your car. I'm only sharing my own knowledge based on experience and being a fairly technically-inclined individual as well.
Definitely true about the iOS updates, it’s tricky for us since an issue could be anywhere from the phone, cable, or car. I’m on 11 Pro Max running iOS 14 developer and no issues as of yet, Bluetooth usually is pretty good but the road noise ruins it really anyways lol

It's absolutely 100% the car, it's an intermittent physical connection issue. I've been a software developer for 30 years, so I'm not completely ignorant here. In these Bose systems, Bluetooth sounds as good as anything else, but as you know that also depends media quality too.

56K on my 1SS, had a spate of issues earlier this year, one after another. Finally had torque converter replaced under warranty after 2 flushes, then had injector issues on 1 bank. Then had starter wire fried on the starter heat shield, which now I'm certain was from the torque converter repair 2 months prior. I was pretty miffed at the whole situation, but now the car runs like a top. Decided to keep it.

Need to machine the rear rotors (some wobble at speed, did the fronts at 45K), change rear diff fluid, and it's getting close to time for a new battery and a set of tires before winter. All normal maintenance stuff. Oh yeah, lost the right fog light to a rat-chewed wire in the bumper, easy fix.

Still love the car; it looks great, drives great and absolutely rips when you get on it.

Nice car OP, sounds like you had a bit of bad luck with it. A lot of us have confidence in the motor holding up long term, but keep an eye out for the A8 shudder. I'd say that exhaust tab could be very easily rewelded, just have someone burn it back on and don't look back!
