Boost gauge
I just installed a new mechanical boost gauge. It was zeroed until I took that “pin” out that it comes with. Now, it’s like 2 clicks to the negative when the car is off. When I start the car, it drops to about -20. Haven’t been able to drive it yet to check the boost reading. Is it supposed to be at zero when the car is off? Can you zero them?
Suggestions?

Yea, then it will drop to negative when you crank. Hit 5th gear at a low speed and you should see it jump into boost
|

Logic would tell me, plus any other boost gauge I have seen and used, that it should be at zero when the car is off. Since it’s mechanical and digital, it will most likely read a few PSI below now when running.

Replacement gauge installed. Its perfectly zeroed and works great.

Good to hear, figured there was a problem. Never seen a gauge that wasn’t at zero when off.
