Pay a few grand more for one with half the mileage or less or negotiate that one below $30k IMO. 3yr/36k mile bumper to bumper warranty transfers which covers you if you find a problem after buying one with lower mileage, along with 5yr/60k powertrain warranty but that is more limited. You may have to look for a few months to find a good deal though.

+1 for paying a Chevy dealership to do a pre purchase inspection and verify warranty (no past tunes, no over revs, no modifications). I did this and bought mine used sight unseen out of state in 2018 and didn't have any issues but the dealership had lots of good reviews and it was a great deal so that helped me to justify the risk.

Yikes. I think that is way to much for the mileage. I am asking $34k for mine with 6,800 miles!

There are a few maintenance items at 45k miles but nothing crazy.

Try and find one certified at a dealer.
It will get you 5 yr/100,000 powertrain plus a bumper to bumper warranty of sorts.

Just for reference, I found my 18 1le with 18k on the clock for $36k out there door with all taxes, fees and transfers included. I bought it in October 2019.

Car Inspection

I hired a national company called The Lemon Squad to inspect my 2015 1LE for around $200. I got an inspection that was around 2 1/2 hrs long according to the seller. The inspection included a driving inspection, a detailed lengthy report, and a phone call with the inspector. Prior to inspection you will be able to give the inspector things in specific you want addressed. Good luck!

Only things you'll really have to look out for from my experience:
  • Magnetic shocks. Sometimes they go bad. This can manifest as a clunking noise or leaking from the shock. Not too hard to fix.
  • Noise from loose front sway bar nuts. Can be remedied with updated nuts that include washers and torquing to correct spec.
  • Infotainment issues. Sometimes the MyLink will start acting weird. Freezing, not responding to commands, etc. I've found a battery disconnect for a few minutes remedies this.

An independent company will probably do a more thorough inspection than a Chevy dealership but I doubt that the independent company would have access to the computer(s) needed to verify the warranty has not been voided which is the single most important thing when buying one of these cars used IMO. That way you are protected if something breaks later that was fine at the time of inspection.

Danny,

from one Mil guy to another.. Here are just a few 1LEs that look like a better deal and look good. I am not sure what your budget is, but there are a $hit-ton of them out there that seem like better deals than a 41K mile/ $32.5 one... Just like others have said.. if you can find one and have it looked at by a certified dealer or speed pro, then that is the way you should be able to do it from overseas while deployed...

I’ll be sure to keep those in mind but if I have a question on how to remedy any of those problems could I message you by chance?
