ZL1 / ZL1 1LE - Front Fascia Assembly Question

The foam crash bumper and it’s plastic covering seen behind the lower grille....

How is it secured in place? Is it some what loose, free to move?

I was installing a tow hook and noticed I could push the foam & plastic covering up and back slightly to center the outer and inner hole as I was threading in the tow hook.

Thanks

Yep, it has a little bit of play, but the bumper holds it in place, between it and the metal support beam. It has two extensions on the left and right side that rest into holes, so it can't come out without removing the bumper.

I had the same issue, thought it was an assembly defect. I had my dealer secure that plastic piece with a couple of screws. However, securing it ended up pushing up the top plastic on the front bumper making it not flush with the hood anymore. (I might remove these screws they added, there is no permanent modification here.) Build quality isn't great.. I'd suggest just living with it as it is.

It comes right out when you remove the front fascia. There aren't any bolts or tight clips. I think there are just guides on the front fascia and it holds it in place when bolted up.
