Manuals are cool too. They let you admire the tail end of an A10 in a race.

2019 ZL1 has A10 along with SS. In 2020, V6 is getting the A10 as well.

As for the M6 vs A10 situation...

Ready your popcorn, folks.

The ZLE A10 is definitely cheating on a road course.

I haven’t seen any road course proof that the A10 is much faster. There’s one vid on here where the manual actually ran equal or slightly better times on the same course and another where a mag crew ran both and only picked up .7 of a second on a 2:45 track. Not impressive if you ask me. I’m not saying it’s no good, just not the almighty superior that a lot of people on here think it is.

2 cents

I'd happily roll race any (stock) manual 40 to 120 - car length easy, even more from a stop

I hate losing to M car dickheads, not going to happen with an almighty A10 in track mode.

I’m sure there’s some stock M6s on the road course near you. Go out there and show them how much faster you are.

Get some video lol.

Stop with the "manual master race" nonsense. Seriously, this is coming from a manual trans guy.

There are few to none objective reasons to drive a manual trans anymore. Other than the potential reliability edge(even then that depends on the transmission - see the MT82 lawsuit thread) and that slight price difference(like, what, 2% of the ZL1 price?), it gets worse gas mileage, it's slower, it's less consistent and more prone to human errors.

Just drive whatever that makes you happy and respect other people's choice. That's why there is a choice.

The comment was about road course racing. Everyone knows that roll racing for evenly powered cars usually come down to getting jump, traction, correct starting speed for car based on gearing and a half dozen other factors. In fact there are YouTube videos showing stock manuals beating stock auto. Point being, roll racing isn’t going to answer the question.

As I said before, I’m not dissing the performance of the A10 and I’m not even saying it isn’t faster. All I’m saying is that it has been “touted” as being an improvement on the road course. Which is where the variables are eliminated as much as possible. And so far there hasn’t been and testing that shows that to be true. I’m interested from a technical perspective.

Id like to see same driver on same course on same day in 2 stock ZL1s, M6 A10 and see what the times look like. With a fair and measurable test I’d unequivocally acknowledge whichever one puts down quicker times. And if one is handily quicker than the other it would prove or disprove it either way. So far it has been either a toss up, or A10 very slightly quicker. Not enough IMO to proclaim it even a meaningful improvement.
