I don’t drag race any more, but I do track the car. I still got the A10. Took it up to the mountains for some fun and in track mode, it is an absolute beast in the twisties. I know on the road course, the a10s are also faster.

As far as fun factor, agree the stick is more fun.

My 2001 Z06 has 750 hp and 740 tq
My 6 speed is useless till 3rd gear
So having the 10 speed in my ZL1 is a blessing. Love it.

Because it’s message board politics. Don’t even ask ZL1 1LE vs ZL1, ZL1 1LE ride harshness or 19+ taillights.

TREMEC 6060 to 10L80 Auto

They are both great, similar, but different. I loved my M6 2015 1LE. Third gear pulls are so much fun. Had to move to an auto due to crushing a nerve in my clutch leg.
Some people don’t realize the 10 speed Auto performs like a stick. You can downshift, and the car will rev match. The auto will hold a higher rpm and Gear for a a period of time when you release the accelerator, anticipating more throttle to come. The auto has performance shift mode, line lock, launch control....
I have just as much fun, if not More with my 2020SS. I am such a big fan of the auto I have ordered a 2021 1LE with auto. In the 2021 the 10L90 from the ZL1 will be in the 1LE. The car will also have 2.85 rear gears versus 2.77.

That’s my two cents.

Buying Camaros brand new and reselling in a year or two - you have money to burn my man. Depreciation city.

Thought about just getting a used ZL1? Step up to the King. I don't miss my SS one bit, struggles to be competitive with too many other cars now

To each of their own. Personally I think that if I hop into a ZL1, I will probably kill myself in it. Then there is the extra insurance and fuel cost.

If your happiness comes from being the fastest, you will never be happy.

If I really feel like going fast in an enclosed environment, there are tracks where you can rent a Lambo or Ferrari.

Sent from toaster or something

Smile

Can't we just do a poll and conclude once and for all that the M6 is better?

I went from a 04 camry to my zl1. It's actually incredibly tame and controlled. It handles itself better than any other pony car for sure.

You aren't lying about the gas though...

When I had my 17 ZL1 M6 I THOUGHT it was bad on gas, I didn't think it could get any worse.
The A10 is OMFG, it loves the gas for sure.

Sold my 18 Zl1 M6 2 weeks ago yesterday. Now waiting to buy my A10 Zl1 (hopefully tomorrow). And yes tbh the gas mileage was not bad at all (to me). I also daily drive a trackhawk so I’m comparison the Zl1 was a Prius compared to the hawk lol. I can’t wait tho to get into an A10 Zl1. Plans are Maggie 2650, cam, and catless longtube headers.

nah - similar powerband just more of it everywhere, never feels like I'm struggling to run a Mustang, I hate that feeling

My insurance actually went down, still not sure how that worked

Yes, it sucks more gas but honestly who buys these cars for that

I like being in the upper 95%, and I feel like the ZL1 is there. Maybe an M5, AMG GT, or 911tt is going to outrun me (barely), but with a few bolts on even that won't happen. This car is an amazing value, and aside from the oil pump issue (hopefully fixed as of '19) it is more reliable and MUCH cheaper to work on than any of those cars
