Wheel studs: Metal protection needed?
Hi Guys,
After I finish washing my car, I use my electric blower to remove water off the wheels, especially the lug nuts out of concern for rust/corrosion. I understand that putting any oil/grease will protect the metal but will also skew the torque value and potentially cause over-tightening of the lug nuts. Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks, Chris |

I have not seen any rust on my wheel studs. I would not add any oil or grease to them.

Dont use the tuner open end lug nuts and you won't need to worry about rust on the wheel studs.

no worries...if that were a worry, how could anyone drive in the rain and not risk lugnut rust issues?

Get yourself a set of black security lugs. Problem solved. No rust and secure as Fort Knox! |
