Yeah, it's the "truck transmission" I bet they even kept the two/haul mode and the column selector too!

Alright let me be more specific since you didn't get the point, I meant the "regular" 10 speed automatic transmission that first debuted in GM Trucks which, with a different calibration, can be used in a while range of vehicles due to the modular design of current vehicles instead of the more purpose built performance transmission found in the ZL1 trim of the Camaro and ZO6/ZR1 trims of the Corvette, only a crazy person would think an actual transmission FROM a truck is in a sports cars, or would also believe someone else seriously thinks it's a transmission FROM a truck.

M6 in the 1le is rather excellent imo.
The M6 amazing indeed, my only complaints would be the 1st -> 2nd shift after being parked is quite rough and some metal clunking at low speeds.

Otherwise, really hope the A10 is the ZL1 version and magazines pick up on it, I'd love to see track numbers considering Motortrend lapped the SS 1LE and the M3 GTS ($100k gimmick car) with very similar times!

So how do you go WOT without activating PSA? And what activates PSA? Drive mode, or gas pedal, or both?
Example: At 70 mph, on the highway say in 9th gear. You go WOT and boom just like normal cars you are gone.

Example: at 70 mph, on the highway, drinking a Red Bull. A GT 500 pulls up next to you and tells you that on honk 3 we go. Cool. Just slightly tap the gas, PSA message comes up, car downshifts to lowest gear possible, then you go WOT. In PTM mode. The PSA hold the lowest gear possible.

10L90 (GM upgraded version of 10L80)>10L80 (GM version)>10R80 (Ford version)

I've heard of issue with the Ford version (10R80) in regards to tuning and planetary-assemblies breaking. I've not heard of any significant issues with the GM version (10L80). The 10L90 seems to be super stout.

It seems there may have been some updates to at least the Camaro version of the 10-speeds, because the RPOs changed over 2017-20MY. The 10L80 went from MF6 in 2019MY to MI2 in 2020MY. The ZL1 10L90 went from MGL for 2017-2019MY to MI4 in 2020MY.

The 10L60 is used in the 2020+ V6 Camaros and CT4.
The 10L80 is used in the 2019+ V8 Camaros (non ZL1), GM trucks, CT5 and CT6.
The 10L90 is used in the ZL1 and CT6.

Z06 and ZR1 actually use the 8 speed. Chevy says the 10 speed from the ZL1 will not fit the C7 chassis. I believe the 10 speed currently in the SS is completely different from the ZL1, so I
don't expect the 1LE package will get the ZL1 10 speed either.

I'd assume the calibration has been tweaked for the SS 1LE with the auto probably similar to what was done with the ZL1 1LE auto.

GM at one time used the numbers to designate the trans.
4L60 would be a 4 speed Longitudinal trans with a torque rating of 60(not sure what 60 actually refers to)
When they updated to 4L60E the E was for electronic controlled.
4L80 held more torque, but still a 4 speed.
Front drive was 4T60, T was for transverse.

The 10L80 should hold the same torque as the old 4L80, just with more gears. So the 10L90 is a stronger trans just by design, regardless of programming.

People within GM and the industry use both the L (Longitudinal) and R for that transmission series as old habits are hard to get rid of.
GM / GM GPS (Global Propulsion Systems) [newer name for GM GPS] are using 10Rx0 for that series now in correspondence but are not consistent.

Here's the official GM GPS USA Information Guide for 2017 MY, the launch of the 10R90 in the ZL1 as we all know. I catch myself in emails, posts, etc. still occasionally using 10L90 for example. I just did a little cut & paste from it. Below it is the link for the 2018 where it and the 80-series are called 10L80 and 10L90. So, I'd say it's fair that both are "right"...

If I was buying new probably but since I already have an 18 I plan on keeping it. Plus my 2019 Silverado has the A10 and it it’s fun to drive with the 6.2 also . I guess you can say best of both worlds
