My memories of middle school physics are fading fast, but why would it change the torque value that the wrench reads? Extensions help you, that is, your muscles by allowing the exact same torque via the application of less force over a greater distance. There is no change to whatever torque value the wrench reads at the lug.

If you're referring to an extension on the socket, the answer is zero, i.e. not at all.

Solution is for them to take off the wheels and clean both surfaces.

Mine went away after that fix and after 20K miles is just starting to come back, will have them address it with the next oil change interval.
UPDATE: After dealer cleaned the hub and wheels, both sides are again silent.

Sorry for the delayed reply of appreciation. Needless to say the last couple weeks have been more than out of the ordinary.

Thank you all for the feedback. I haven't had a chance to pull the wheels off yet as I have learned that more purchases are needed just to get the car jacked up.

(Patiently awaiting ZL1 AddOns Jack pads https://zl1addons.com/collections/jackpads-magpads)

I'll let ya'll know once I get a chance to use my new jack and lift pads..

Thanks again, appreciate everyone!

Just as everyone has said, I pulled the wheel off, brake cleaned, wiped everything down, applied a thin coat of anti seize, torqued to 140, and back in business.(No more Clicking)

Once again, appreciate all the comments and assistance..

Next order of business, Corsa Cat-back and kooks 2" headers.

Torque applied won't change. So long as the force applied is uniaxial to the lugnut through the extension, the force is not reduced at all.

In theory, you could use an infinitely long and rigid extension on a torque wrench, and the torque at the handle is the torque applied to the nut.
