GM CAI and Tune

Anyone know how much increase in horsepower and torque it is to install the gm intake and tune? Or if it even increases power?

The GMP CAI is made my Cold Air Inductions and looks identical to this one: https://www.coldairinductions.com/sh...-intake-black/

From Cold Air Inductions website:

"Maximize the performance of your Chevy Camaro SS with our high-performance 6.2L V8 Camaro cold air intake system for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 Chevy Camaros. Our intakes feature superior quality and craftsmanship while achieving outstanding performance gains. We have seen increases of up to 13 horsepower, with an average increase of 11 rear-wheel horsepower. The Cold Air Inductions air intake for the Camaro6 is one of the easiest and fastest ways to add more power.

From the CAI website page for this intake:

I understand that cold air inductions claims that increase of horsepower, but is that without a tune? If it was no tune then I’m wondering how much more you can get with the gm one (which is the same as CAI) but with the flash tune done by GM. Would it be more horsepower with the gm tune?

You are going to find 95% of the people on here will recommend the RotoFab CAI over anything else on the market.

It seems to make the biggest gains and a massive following of happy customers to back up the fit, finish, and hp results. Thats why I went with the RotoFab Dry and I am very happy with it.

The GMP intake seems popular with people worried about warranty issues with using non GM branded parts. From the handful of reviews I have read the results are varied with or without the tune. Unfortunately I dont have any first hand experience with it.

I have a friend running the GMP intake and it looks like a very nice product.

I read lots of posts about intakes before I bought a GM intake and 13 to 16 HP was typical with the GM tune.

My vehicle was factory optioned with the GM Accessories CAI. I took delivery of my vehicle without it installed, however. I installed the CAI myself at home and returned to the dealership to have the appropriate software calibration installed. The software calibration made a huge improvement in throttle response. The quality and fitment of the CAI is excellent, and I would not hesitate to recommend this product.

I bought the GMP CAI online and installed myself and had my dealer do the tune (for free, the cost of the tune is included with the purchase price of the GMP CAI and they give you a code the dealer uses to get paid)...

I love it, plus it is 50 state legal (unfortunately, I live in Kalifornia so I have to deal with that) and it maintains your GM warranty...

That’s the main reason I want the GM CAI over the rotofab cause I’m in California and want to keep my warranty!

Here is the best price I've found for the GMP CAI, I bought mine here, installed it myself (less than an hour) and took it to the dealer for the tune (with the code that came on the owners manual of the GMP CAI).

Nice! Have you noticed much a difference after the tune? That’s honestly a great price plus it comes with the gm tune

I installed the CAI when I only had about 50 miles on the car, so I've never really "driven" it spiritedly without the CAI installed, however the car does move right along and it sounds great at higher throttle settings with the CAI...
