Funny thing is that roll racing became fashionable to eliminate having to hook up and the potential damaged that can cause. So now they are increasing the power to the point of causing the same issue but at a starting speed of 40 mph.
Agreed, and putting down the power also relates to the drivers skill given whatever chassis they chose.

Oh for sure, just kind of pointing out the obvious as to why the manual car didn't get the hit as is customary to see in manual vs auto rolls.

This thread is such deja vu, are we really going to talk about the joke PP2 again? No one, especially not me, has said anything good about that joke of a car. The tires are actually too good for that car as it does overheat it's components in a few laps. Ford threw those tires on it just to make it get one lap better than the SS1LE. As discussed AGAIN.
Also AGAIN most people only discuss their fastest pass at the strip, nothing out of the ordinary there.

Nope not what i said this time or the time before. I admit when i'm wrong, unlike Mr. Whole

Was this a debate? I guess i missed the part where people thought a stock GT500 would beat a ZR1. Must be only the Mustang fanbois.
Mustang fanboi tards do, they'll watch Stabgmode get the hit on an auto zr1 vert who's driver doesn't have the car figured out yet, still get reeled in, and passed, and say they were about even because Stangmode told them so.... they let their eyes deceive them lol.

Still cool to watch an m7 zr1 do its thing.

Go to a drag strip and learn how to drive your car already. You might actually enjoy the challenge and I'm certain the innocent bystander you didn't kill will thank you as well.
I can agree with this, as long as whoever is claiming it isn't racing an auto at the strip... takes very little skill to mash the go pedal... to me roll racing a manual is still more fun than drag racing and auto.

Each one was already modified with the Mopar 205 HP brain. We’re they lying, or did the dealer just toss it in to sell the car for even more $, or did they leave Shelby that way. Remember GLH-Ss were built at Shelby. I don’t know. The car was about as fast as a stock GN, if there was such a thing. That was the 80s and cheating has never stopped, probably goes back to Roman chariot racing Ben Hur style. Point is both cars looked 100% stock their owners said they were 100% stock, but they were packing 30 more HP than stock.
Not discrediting any of what you said, but there are true stock cars and then there are modified cars with dishonest drivers.

Ehhh very debatable. Launching an auto that has alot of power is more difficult than just shifting gears in a roll race.

Fun, the manual wins every situation.

I said this before. Racing from a dig shows driver ability and how well the car puts the power to the ground. Racing from a roll tells you who has the faster car and how stable the car is.

I doubt most people actually do real roll racing. But 40 MPH is too low to start off for the faster more powerful cars out there. It might be good for NA vehicles or SUVs, but the higher powered cars need to start around 60-80 MPH. And you won't really see which is faster until you get over 120 MPH. Going from 40-80 or even to 100 won't tell you much.

Hate to say it, but right now i think i have to sit back for at least a year and see what the factories have to offer. My 17 ZL1 is paid off and this week paid off my 18 Daytona 392. I plan to keep and mod the Zl1, but would like to change out the Daytona. I am disappointed that Chevy doesn't seem interested in offering a higher HP version of the Z and i am disappointed in Dodge as well for not finally choosing a different platform for the Challenger and Chargers to drop some weight. There are a few GT500's in the area at MSRP, but not convinced it is the car for me. I do like the C8's. I saw and sat in one when they were touring dealerships several months ago. I know me and the base model wont do it.
