Something about putting the s/c reservoir above the header just doesn't compute for me.
That said, I am sure the pros of installing the ADM reservoir still outweigh the cons of not having any. I have a fender mounted tank, which has some inherit drawbacks as well (i.e. fender removal for install), but works very well and holds over 2 gallons. |

A week after the initial install I did have to add about 3-4 ounces to the reservoir but, that's been the only time (and that was over a year ago) that I ever added any to the system. I have done three "checks" on the system since then, just to satisfy my OCD on the topic though. Using my 'redneck engineering' setup (piece of tubing, cut up water bottle, and 1/4" ratchet extension) I have checked the fluid level three times in the last year, never had any air come out of the system through the OEM valve. |

Volume of the tank doesn’t matter. As long as you can open it to check the level, and it can remove the air... Was looking for the smallest one... |

I have had the ADM and would not recommend it for the following reasons:
- It sits on top of the header, which heats up the coolant - The bracket holding it was not strong enough and kept coming loose on the roundcourse, I feel it is a very poor design I sent it back to ADM and bought the Cordes which I am happy with. It is also not perfect and only attaches with one bolt to the plastic fan. I therefore had to secure it with cable ties to make sure it stays in place. I haven't tested it yet on the racetrack... After those experiences I almost wish I had invested the money into being able to bleed the OEM system myself using an OEM tool... |

With the tank mounted slightly lower than the SC bricks, it would seem that gravity would cause this to happen. Thanks, Chris |

The point of any of these systems is that with the cap off and the engine running the coolant will circulate and naturally, any air bubbles will try and take the path of least resistance, i.e. - 'up'.
With regards to positioning above the headers, that's a very valid point. Although my Headers are ceramic coated, I'll take some heat readings when finished (temp of coolant Vs. temp of the reservoir) and if an issue, coat the reservoir with heat shield.

The Cordes tank you cannot open when the engine is not running, as it sits below the supercharger cooling bricks and coolant would spill. The procedure however is very easy, have the car idle, open the Cordes reservoir, fill and close, done.

I didn’t know you could cram a catch can and a coolant reservoir on the driver’s side !!!
I mounted my Elite catch can in front of the engine on the passenger side and I had no clearance issues. I plan On getting a coolant reservoir st some point.

I have the mighty mouse can with the Cordes expansion tank. Install was a breeze. I filled the tank let the car idle topped it off and its good to go. Sorry not sure why the pic is sideways.
