Do the 2019+ ZL1s have the same exhaust cracks as the SS?

I've been watching a few Camaro videos as I wait for mine to come in and looking at the 2019 SS and some posts on here, apparently the 2019+ SS has a new tune that causes the exhaust to crackle and pop like crazy when letting off between 3-4k rpm.

https://youtu.be/6Vr-MxFWb04?t=149

I've found something similar was done to the 2019 Z06 as well.

Is this the case for the 2019+ ZL1s?

You should update the title. I thought you meant physical cracks in the exhaust.

I don't hear them in the car really while driving aggressively/lifting off of the throttle or downshifting. I do hear crackles/pops when revved though.

It's called decel pop and was fairly prevalent on my 2010 SS and 2013 ZL1, but not so much my 2017 ZL1. Maybe more of an LS thing? The 2017 just does it some until it's warmed up. I had the solenoid fuse pulled on my 2013 and it was so bad it would backfire when it was cold. It's a result of unburned fuel going in the exhaust during decel and was factory tuned that way for fuel efficiency or something or other. A lot of people like it, the ones that don't usually get it tuned out. There's been many threads about it.

Nonexistent. And it's a shame.

Decel pop sounds really cool but it likely represents inefficiency and potential for performance loss, so it makes sense that the ZL1 engineering team would have tuned it out since they were so focused on going for the gold at Nurburgring.

A shame indeed. I was considering getting the SS over the ZL1 for that reason alone.

Huh - not sure why you guys don't have that, but my 19' ZL1 1LE certainly has decel pops. Very noticeable ones stock from the 1st day.
Granted I drive with my windows down 90% of the time, so maybe I hear them easier than some? Don't know.
I know I asked my tuner while he was tuning me last week about them. He said he could leave them there or remove them when tuning me. But he said the factory does it supposedly for fuel economy.
I told him leave that part as stock. So I had them before the tune & now after my tune.
Could it be more of a 6-speed manual thing?

My '19 ZLE is an M6 as well. Not a whole bunch of decel pops, I do get pops on warm start ups though. I had a Ram SRT10 with the viper motor in it, it had tons of decel pops and I wish the Camaro popped as much...

That's weird. Mine's not over the top with tons of decel pops, but still plenty there. I mentioned the tuner aspect because I noticed that on my old 14' 1LE when it got tuned, it lost about 80-90% of the decel pops. So this time I wanted to make sure they stayed there. And it did and about the same amount.
Just obviously louder now with the headers & AWE exhaust added at the same time.

Based on my '13 pop with the NPP fuse pulled, I would expect exhaust mode to have an effect on it. My exhaust is set on Track and like I stated earlier, it pops when cold, but not much after it warms up. Maybe Sport or Tour it doesn't at all? IDK, mine's been on Track since day one.

Based off their signatures the others in the thread don't have a '19 so maybe that could be it? I know it does it on start up, but the 19'+ SS is crazy with how it does and it sounds.

I also thought this thread was about physical cracks on the exhaust.

My 18 Zl1 1LE pops and crackles when it’s cold during idle. I don’t think I’ve ever noticed it while driving.

My 350R? Well, that’s a completely different story ! That thing pops and crackles by itself lol.

FYI, it has nothing to do with nor does it indicate inefficiency or performance loss.

My 2017 pops when it’s cold downshifting and also when it’s in Track mode especially if I have rev match on but other than that it doesn’t pop on deceleration. I have mine in Sport mode 90% of the time driving. My 2010 LS3 Camaro was bad about it but when I had Headers and exhaust system with a tune it was not as noticeable as when it was stock.
