Axle dilemma

So about about 2 months ago I went to the drag strip and broke my passenger side axle on the second pass. I ordered a pair of DSS but it’ll be 7 weeks since as of this coming Monday. I have not received any ETA from the vendor and he has tried to get me time frames from the manufacturer DSS and that is with a claimed 4-4.5 weeks. I have a Rally event on May 9th and my bday is May 8th so really hope to make that.

I have spoken to Gforce and they claimed they could have a set within 2 weeks.

There is also someone in the forum selling a pair of stockers so I could also by those for the mean time.

A. So should I cancel the DSS order and order the Gforce axles?

B. Keep the order with DSS but order the stockers for the mean time? (This part sucks bc I will have to do the job twice)

C. Stick with the DSS order Be patient and risk not making the event?

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

D. Order the GForce but leave the DSS order in. When one ships, cancel the other one.

I get you, my car has only been down for 4 week and it is frustrating having to wait for part to finish your build. At this point I am thinking about contacting pray performance about his stage 2 blower cam and what would be his lead time.

I have a stage 3 cammotion. It’s prettt awesome! It bucks at stops but not too bad. I’ll be contacting GForce on Monday to get some real time frames.

Who tuned your car, i am going to have my car remote tune but at the moment i am undecided on which shop to contact. I would like to dyno tune my car by a reputable shop, unfortunately I can't trailer my car and I dont trust any local shop to tune my car.

My car was dyno and street tuned by MS tuning in Richmond TX. I’ll be doing a remote tune with him from here on tho as I’ll be adding little things from time to time.

Bro, I just saw that you are in Hidalgo?! I’m from laferia. Once I get my car rolling we should meet up.

Well, it has been 7 weeks and no word from DSS. I canceled the order and ordered a set of GFORCE axles. Hope to have something in the next few weeks.

I bought my GForce Outlaw axles earlier this month and they arrived in about 2 weeks FWIW. My install shop has been raving about how nice they are, so I think you made a good move.

I think so too. They told me about 2-3 weeks so way better than the 4 1/2 weeks DSS claimed and it’s been 7 weeks without a peep from them.

About a year or so ago, my brother ordered a custom CF DS for his 1K HP GTO from DSS. He called after 6 weeks of hearing nothing from them and DSS said they would start it soon. He called after 3 more weeks of nothing (9 weeks total) and DSS told him they weren’t comfortable making it. Unreal.

I also have the GForce 3.5” aluminum DS and it’s butter smooth. Just seems to be a better company IMO. Good luck!
