And TT'ing it is a great idea. I did see that someone developed a system but I can't remember who it was or how it turned out. I think there was something involving them not being able to tune it or something...?? Any info on that?
There are a few people working on TT kits for the C8. The problem is they still haven't cracked the ECU and won't be able to tune the engine. It took a long time to crack the C7 ZR1 ECU, around a year if I remember right.

Thankfully there will be a much larger customer base to spread the cost of cracking the ECU with the C8 than the very limited C7 ZR1's LT5 specific ECU.

If you intend to use a TT C8 for track days you are going to need the supporting hardware (brakes, wheels, tires, cooling, suspension... etc.) to really get the most performance out of your C8. Of course, this supporting hardware will cost big bucks once it is available due to the Corvette tax. And I think we all know when it comes to Camaro and Corvette it is incredibly hard to beat the factory when it comes to overall performance and balanced vehicle dynamics.

We are in the same boat you and I. Close to a year ago I went to the dealer to put down my deposit and decided to wait until the C8 bugs have been ironed out. In the interim, I decided to wait until the Z06 is announced and depending on what the specs are I'll either buy that or go for ZLE. If you are serious about track work do not sell the ZLE short, they are fantastic performers and with a good set of tires and better brake pads, they are very hard to beat on most tracks. In your situation, you are ~80% - 90% of the way to a ZLE car today. Food for thought.

Here’s a really good track comparison of the C8 Stingray vs base GT500 at Willow Springs. Very informational and well produced video. Before you view, just know that he does not provide track times. He’s stated that he will detail the times in the next video. He does describe what’s going on with each car through all the corners, curves, and straights of Willow Springs.

https://youtu.be/KA2Cxvc8l-A

I noticed by the driver's comments that he was experiencing some traction issues with the base GT500, I guess that the base ZL1 would be able to beat both the C8 Z51 and the base GT500, and maybe a very experienced driver on a SS1LE or on a C7 GS would be able to keep up with them.

Yeah.. he's not talking about track days. He's talking about roll racing.

Well, technically, not really "roll" racing...I race from a dig too...conditions permitting

Don't cancel the order the Blaq!

I know you appreciate being the fastest/having the fastest/ whatever you want to call it. Who cares if the C8 is slower than your ZL1 I would be willing to bet it drives completely differently and is just a totally new experience.

Saw my second C8 today coming into work. Holy hell did it look good, I am not normally a fan of black cars but holy hell was this thing slick looking.

I have never really been a fan of aftermarket TT but it is something I have considered and will consider. I actually bought a TT setup for my 5th Gen but never installed it. Back then there were several of my friends who did turbo setups and each of them had some engine failure of varying degrees. I did not want to be #7 so I sold it and just left my SS alone. I would much rather do a PD blower if one were to come out for the C8. But again, the tuning is where all the problems arise because apparently it is a bitch to unlock the ECU. I do plan to mod the ZL1 and HC tho so that satisfies the mod bug. So I don't really need to mod another car if it is fast enough out the box. And the McLarens are monsters.

Well it is more so the principle of the whole thing. But nothing is etched in granite. I change my mind about cars every couple minutes.

Anyway keeping things in perspective I'm just glad to be alive and well these days. I'm truly satisfied and thankful for the things I do have. After seeing soo many people die, people who would normally be living a regular life right now, all because of a virus...and knowing how lucky I am when I consider the fact that I was on airplanes and going on trips right as this thing started to get into full swing...I can't complain about anything. I do complain but deep down I know that I have no right or reason to. I am leaving for NY in a couple hours and I do not know what conditions will be waiting for me. I expect it to be a complete disorganized mess. I am not sure if I'll be able to even post for the next couple days as I will probably be staying there the next 2 nights. I'll be back either in a few hours or a couple days God willing. I'll update you guys on what I see. Stay safe!!

Nice James. Didn't know you owned a dealership.

Maybe you can put Blaq at the top of the list for that C8?
