Zl1 1LE extreme track package tires/wheels

Hi everyone, I'm purchasing a new ZL1 1LE extreme track package. I'm having the hellion twin turbo kit installed on the car, itll have 1000+ rwhp after all the mods are done. What tire/ wheel package would be sufficient for this kind of rwhp? It ll be driven mostly on highways. Thanks in advance.

If its just going to be driven on highways, probably anything. Pilot sport 4s are the popular tires for daily use, but with 1000whp youll blow any tires off the car.

If mostly highways you might want to look into Toyo R888R to handle the power. They also come in 345/30/19 and if the specs are similar to my PSC2 then 345 will fit the rear. R888R are good for hooking up on street and in 345 that will help you with 1000 WHP.

They're not as good as PSC2 on road course but they'll work ok there, better than MPS4S at track level tire temps

Unless you are on a DR with a prepped surface, there is not a tire on the market today that can handle 1000 HP in a RWD platform. Throttle modulation will be the name of the game for you.

Unless you are drag racing and that is your goal, I just don't understand the logic of having that much HP when it is not accessible. The potential is there to spin and be bouncing off the traction control system at just about any speed. Different strokes for different folks I guess, but that just doesn't sound like much fun to me. Also, without traction control on, you are at danger of swapping ends very quickly with any abuse of the throttle.

Toyo R888R in 345/30/19 will be the best for the street. Not a daily driver tho. If it rains you better pray you get home safe. On dry traction, it’s awesome! 1000whp is a bunch and doubt any tire will hold it, but the R888Rs would do the best.

650hp/tq alone is tough to handle but thanks to some sophisticated nannies and the Alpha platform, the ZLE can put the power to the ground well.

I am not a fan of adding more power if the goal is to be smooth on/off track.

We live in amazing times with the amount of HP available. Enjoy the car and become a better driver.

If your just doing freeway runs, the Mickey Thompson ET street SS is going to be the only thing really to help get the power down. I used them on my 1000hp S550 and they would hook up but the rear would still feel floaty driving around normally and you loose the good handling of the car. I would also recommend the Toyos for more normal everyday driving around since they are traditional radial.

I'm curious why you chose a twin turbo kit from Hellion. I can tell you from experience you are asking for a whole lot of issues. My friend is on his 3rd engine due to various issues... especially the tune. You know who paid for all that carnage... he did. Those kits put up flashy numbers but really have no support and tuning isn't great.

If you want 1000 hp.... go with something that will last. Hennessy has a great package. If you can afford twin turbos and all the damage that goes with it you can afford the Hennessy package. Save yourself the headache. Just My OPINION.

I'm running the 355/30R19 Kumho ACR's and am happy with them on the rear

I wouldn’t put anything other then a DR out back with that kind of power. Smallest rim that fits over the stock brakes and a big azz DR. As many others have mentioned if you turn the TC system off in these cars even stock it’s pretty easy to lose the rear unless conditions are perfect. With that much power you need as much and as sticky of a tire you can fit out back! My .02
