Supercharger to head bolt snapped, where to urgently get a replacement?
Dear all, when fitting the ported blower, I snapped one of the supercharger to head bolts. I urgently need a replacement, as I got a date for a tune I cannot move. Where can I order a replacement bolt that would ship within 1 or 2 days? cheers cirpower

Why not go to True Value and get a bolt there?

There are 10 total...with the sealing o-rings, I think you could get by without one of the fasteners...(temporarily!)
Torque is only like 89 inch/pounds...

If they are like the Magnuson's they are M6 bolts and mine torque at 108 inch pounds, GM might be less. When I worked for Magnuson a guy was bolting his down and snapping off all the bolts, he got confused about inch pounds and pounds. I got him straightened out and we sent him some new bolts.

I could be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that those tiny ass little bolts are tty.

If you need a single bolt run to the dealer. They will sell you a single bolt. If you order online they will probably only sell them as sets.
Also, I hope you can get the bolt out of the head....I believe the torque specs is 44in/lb first pass then 88in/lb second pass. |

Thanks everyone for the great help. I did re-use the OEM bolts, but for next time I would buy a set of new bolts for sure.
I broke one bolt (be careful, they break easily). Fortunately, they break further up and not in the thread, so I could easily remove it from the head. Home Depot sells an M6x95mm bolt (pitch 1.0) and that one worked just fine to replace the one I broke. I would definitely recommend to everyone doing this work to only use a small ratchet and be very very careful. cheers cirpower |
