Service Parts Identification Label Barcode

I just purchased another set of wheels from a guy that had a car identical to mine. 2018 SS 1LE. My plan was to do the winter / summer swap and use the EL-50448 tool (assuming 433 MHz). Before ordering, I scanned my Service Parts Identification Label Barcode on the pillar. It did not seem to produce what I would consider a full complement of codes. The list seemed a bit short and did not have any of the specifiers imbedded for the TPMS frequency. I was expecting to find the XL8 but didn't find any at all with an "XL" prefix. I've tried searching and have read a number of posts but don't seem to be able to find the definitive answer. I would just like to see it documented that i am 433 MHz for sure. As a byproduct, I would like to figure out this label issue. Any ideas?

Try the service parts label in the trunk instead, under the floor cover. Mine has 110 RPO codes on it, including XL8.

Thanks for the reply. My scan only produced 45 RPO codes. I looked in all the usual places before doing the scan; glove box, console, door jam, trunk, etc. Where exactly was it located in your trunk? I looked all over multiple times. My trunk has a carrier mounted to the bottom that cradles the tire pump, sealant, tow hook, funnel, etc. There seem to be a couple of torx bolts securing it to the bottom. I could remove that assembly. Was yours stuck to the very bottom under all that? I removed all the stuff and did not unbolt the empty brackets but that would be the next step. I also understood that at some point in 2018 they stopped using the sticker and went to the bar code. Do you have a barcode also?

Yes, I do have a barcode in the door jamb, but the real deal is the trunk label. It should be smack in the middle when you lift the trunk floor panel, here's what that space looks like in my trunk. Are you saying your car does not have a label there? (My car was manufactured in late Feb 2018.)

You are correct. Here is an image of my trunk. I've removed everything just to be sure it is not under the bag, etc.

I don’t have one in the trunk area as well. Build date June 2018. Wonder when they stopped placing them in the cars. I did the email to socialmedia@gm thing. It’s late and I can’t remember the exact email address. Sorry.

My 1st 2016 didn't have the label in the trunk either. Saw no sign that it had been there either. My current 2016 does have it.

If you want to DM me the last 8 of your VIN I can check the IVH on your car. I'm a service writer for a Chevy/Cadillac store.

Hm, this is a really weird cost saving measure, if that. The label shouldn't cost more than $1-2, and sticking it on may take what, maybe all of 10 seconds of labor.

Nevertheless, the complete build sheet from that GM social media account others mentioned will be even better, as it also lists the "human readable" description of each code.

(I'm pretty sure it costs way more to pay someone to respond to these emails and print build sheets to PDF, but then again, not all owners will request a build sheet.)

DM sent and thanks. I'm mainly just trying to confirm my TPMS to be 433 MHz but would like to have the codes for the future.
