sorry the pictures are sideways, I’m doing this on my iPhone

1st picture is where I ended up leaving the box. I outlined it with my fingers.

2nd picture shows the wire coming out from the top of the carpet. This is perfect since you have to run the wire up towards the dash anyway.

3rd picture is where I believe Mike from Soler was suggesting to leave the box. NO WAY it fits there. The accelerator pedal would not mount properly and the wire harness for the TC was not long enough to reach both connectors. Also, the wires would have been really contorted, I wasn’t comfortable with that.

4th picture is the clip that was securing (to the body of the car) the OEM wire harness leading to the accelerator pedal assembly. You need to pull that clip out (it came out really easily) in order to get enough slack to put the box behind the carpet without having to severely bend the wires. I left this clip off, the wires are high enough and it’s tight enough back there so nothing will be sliding around.

Pictures 5 and 6 are were I mounted my LCD screen. I ran the wire right underneath the steering column to the final mounting point. Plenty of space in there so nothing will get pinched when you adjust the steering column.

Programming the unit was smooth, no check engine light afterwards. Take the extra 3 minutes and disconnect the battery before you start doing any of this.

I haven’t driven the car yet so I can’t comment on that. But for $75 and the exceptional customer service you get from Soler it was a no brainer for me to try it.

Im looking forward to the first drive. I’ve heard really good things about this mod.
Alain,
Fantastic write up and pics!!! Extremely helpful to say the least. I’m finalizing the install and will look at placing my control /mode selector where you put yours too. I hid all my hardware just to the left of the gas pedal under the carpet. I plan to finalize the setup tomorrow. I didn’t disconnect the battery. Was that recommend??

Thanks bro

Thank you for the props. I don’t recall seeing a recommendation to disconnect the battery in the instructions. I did see something about waiting a few minutes after opening the doors to allow the ECU to go back to “sleep” and avoid getting a check engine light afterwards.

That’s why I chose to disconnect the battery instead. It’s an extra 2 minutes to do so. JUST LEAVE YOUR TRUNK AND DOORS OPEN WHILE YOU’RE WORKING ON THE CAR. Good luck with your install. Report back with your thoughts on driving the car afterwards.

I still haven’t driven mine because of work.

I used the loop side of a Velcro strip on the TC which adheres to the carpet very well.

I put velcro hooks on mine and it sticks right to the carpet out of the way.

You guys that used Velcro mounted it out of sight ?

I like having it visible. Makes the interior of the car more interesting. I’m an avionics fan so I love to see gauges and buttons in the interiors of my cars.

So, I finished the install today and fired her up to check things out before hiding cables and selecting a location for the control unit. I decided to set the controller to OEM before the engine fired up so that I could double check to ensure all was well (CEL). While idling in the garage, I held the RPM's at around 1500 and began to change the controller from OEM to CF, SP and finally to LU. It was incredible to see the needle jump up, up and up with every push of the button. Afterwards, I went through every mode (on setting #5) and did a quick hit of the gas pedal. WOW! Changing from OEM thru LU made a HUGE difference in throttle response and sound. With my spirits high, and no CEL's, I tucked the cables, mounted the controller and hit the road.. Here's the bottom line.. HOLY S#@T!!! The Soler TC not only eliminates the lack of throttle response, but it literally BRINGS THE CAR TO LIFE!! In fact, for most of my trip, I left it in CF5, which is heads & tails above the OEM. Now, when you hit the gas, it goes!! Having both the Soler TB and now TC, I couldn't be happier. I ended up Velcro-ing it to the side carpet just as a few others did too. Seems to work out well in that location. If i find to be a PITA down the road, I'll just reroute the cable and mount it somewhere on the dash. But, so far so good. I'd like to also extend a special thanks to Mike at Soler. The guy is genuine with his customer service, knowledge, feedback, honesty and attention to detail. For anyone in the market for either a Throttle Body, Throttle Controller (or both), I'd highly recommend considering Mike and the Soler team. You can't go wrong.

As always, be safe out there...

This is great news !!! I can’t wait to get my car on the road and mash te pedal. Hopefully it’ll throw me back in the seat like the Hellcat does.

So, what I get from the video is "Remove before trying to do a custom tune".

I have yet to install my TC due to an injury but I bought it to positively effect drive-ability AND to allow me to back out some throttle response if my wife or daughter needs to drive the car.

Thoughts?

FWIW, I am not a tuner or racer...just a dude that likes to drive custom cars fast.

Yeah, you should be removing the TC if you’re tuning the car !!!

Not a Soler TC .... That was a Vitesse AND "custom" tuning .... Plus it seems some of the mayhem should be on the car owner for not disclosing the TC to the tuner before handing the car over.

I just got back from my first drive after installing the TC.

WOW is right !!! The car DOES feel much more lighter. It pulls like a monster in 3rd and 4th gear above 3,000 RPM !!!

NOW this car feels like what I was expecting !!

I didn’t get too crazy, truth be told, I was a little scared, the roads were damp this morning and it took forever to get the tires warm.

I wasn’t ready for that much of a difference, so now I need to learn how to drive this thing again !! That’s a good problem to have !!!

I like the TC setting on S.P. 7. I didn’t go any higher than that or try any other setting. S.P. 7 is good enough for me. This thing now pulls just as much as the Hellcat does! I must have said “wow” to myself 7 different times hahaha.

One side note, anyone else with the TC and the Soler throttle body notice more wine from the supercharger and louder exhaust ? It sounded to me like mine was louder.

I guess it makes sense since now the ECU is allowing the motor to take “bigger breaths” while doing “normal driving”.

Totally worth the $75, ESPECIALLY if you’re like me, someone who is not ready to say bye bye to their warranty !
