I needed more volume with my car and ended up searching for an affordable system that few had. Every seems to have Corsa, Borla, AWE, etc - and for good reason. I went with Gibson and while I'm in love with the sound and it's definitely different, the fitment and quality (specifically the tips) are trash. I'll be putting different tips on it, but ultimately had to cut and weld some of the pipes to fit. It was a full catback that did a secondary cat delete.
Moral of the story - if you decide to upgrade, go with a quality system that has countless reviews. I'll never make that mistake again.

No, I don't. But if you go to the 9.17 mark of this video. This is woman driver, who originally had the AWE Track with the secondary cats, which means without the Performance Link Pipes on her 19 ZL1 and then she added the PLP. This portion of the review gives you a great comparison between the two. And her comments about the exhaust after is spot on! It is load and obnoxious! But if you are looking for that, this is the exhaust. They also make a touring model which is quieter. Install with the PLP is straight forward, no cutting or welding. Remove the stock and install the AWE, it takes about two hours. Recommend two people, make it much easier. Also if you don't have one, get a exhaust hanger removal tool, it makes it so much easier to remove the OEM at the hangers. They are about $10 at any local auto supply. |

Thank you!! Do you have any issues with LTH? Ive always heard the old hot rod guys talk about probs with headers leaking, melting wires, etc. Do you also recommend removal all cats for that??

I agree with Markoz28 completely.
The top recommendations are Corsa Xtreme+ cat-back/Xtreme cat-back or AWE Touring with PLPs with your choice on resonated or not. Both Corsa and AWE options have a full X-Pipe that removes the secondary cats and clamps on at the primaries. You probably saw my thread, I have the Borla X 60606 with the Corsa Xtreme axle back, and as you said the 60606 is no longer manufactured. If I do it again, I would go with the complete Corsa cat-back system without a doubt but it wasn't offered at the time I did mine. |

I have the Borla S type, which retains the NPP. Also got CF tips. I gives a really nice bark on start up, and a great sound, with no drone. I'm very happy with it.

Mark I was on the fence with the Carbo fiber tips but ended up with the standard tips for the Stype catback. How are those carbon fiber tips holding up? And how are they to clean?

They are holding up great. The gas actually passes through an inner pipe. The cf is held away from the heat by mounts that keep them about a half inch from the inner pipe. They barely get warm. Easy to clean.

If i wanted a system with no drone I’d go corsa catback, but like others said, if you EVER plan on headers I’d pick something quieter.
I love stainless works stuff and have their catback, but I’m not going to lie...there is some minimal drone. It doesn’t bother me, but that is a no-no criteria for many. I’m wanting to add the CSP headers to mine, don’t even use my NPP option. I do like how AWE sends the tips separate, my first SW catback came in all bashed to shit with the tips not protected enough. |

I'm a little Leary of headers just from what I've heard but I'm thinking of doing some power upgrades in the future at some point. So maybe I'll have to do that anyway...
