Trading Z06 for ZL1

Thinking of trading my M7 C7 Z06 for an A8 ZL1. The M7 Z06 sucks in traffic and the low ground clearance can be an issue here in the Northeast. I would rather have something I can take on weekend trips to Boston or NYC where stop and go traffic is a given. Does this make sense?

There is no A8 in a ZL1. If you want an auto it will be a A10 or a manual will be a M6

I'd *much* rather have the Z06 ironically lol. Kids prevent me from justifying it at the moment, so ended up with a ZL1. Tbh, I'm not a fan of the ZL1....its a bit boring. The A10 transmission is like butter though; absolutely love how smooth it is.

The ZL1 is also low. Not as low as the Z06 but the difference is not dramatic.

The A10 available with the ZL1 is fantastic!

Makes sense. You'll love the ZL1 A10.

Boring? What would be an example of an exciting car for you?

We were so on the fence with this same choice. My wife drove the corvett and I agree its just so low and always the feeling like your gonna tare it up or something and its harderd for sure getting in and out ect. Nithere are just easy but the camaro is just seems better espicaly for a daily we wound up with a 2ss You just sit so low down in the vett its like you down in a tube with the hood shape. the camaro feels higher from the drives seat and feels like you can see better. Power wise eithir are the same but that 10 speed is always in the right gear. Love that trans. Nothing like getting in that upper power band and staying their through the run. and could not be happyier with our choice a year later

I get it, can't go wrong with either choice.
That was one of the reasons I bought the ZL1 A10 instead of a ZO6 M7, was not interested in anything with the A8. A sports car is fun with a manual unless you drive in stop n go traffic.
Don't punish yourself for wanting to switch plus IMO the A10 is not your normal auto either.

I had a 2019 Z06, traded in for a 2018 ZL1 plus cash. No regrets. Comes down to personal choice and what you will get more enjoyment and use out of.

Not a fan? I can understand that. Boring? You can’t be driving it properly.

The ZL1 with the A10 transmission is a hell of a hotrod in my opinion! I prefer to shift for myself though but if you want a ZL1 then the A10 is for you since you stated you wanted to get rid of your manual ZO6! That would be the ultimate C7 though, ZO6 with the 7 speed trans in my opinion but I’m not a Corvette person! The ZL1 is a beast with good street manners and handles exceptionally well and I don’t think you can go wrong getting one!

I did the opposite. Got rid of a 2017 ZL1 and bought a 2018 Z06 3LZ with Z07 package. I love them both. Just couldn't pass on the Z06. The A8 is fine with the new fluid. Before the ZL1, I had a 2016 with the A8 and it's totally different in the 2018.
