So the object of going to a 17 is to have more sidewall, not the same and if your going to shorten the sidewall that much just buy a 20" drag radial. Your wasting your money and won't save that much weight. However its your money spend it as you like.

2. a 315/35/17 is 25.7" tall and a side wall of 4.3" 3. You will lose over 2" of height doing this. Your tire will be spinning a whole bunch more on the big end and will lose top speed. Plus traction will be limited as the tire will be easily be rotated since it is so much shorted. the perfect tire size for drag racing on a 17" with this car is a 305/45/17. Not sure if you are aware of the many others running this same set up or if you are trying to accomplish something different??? |

laynlo15... Considering different options and details is one thing, being a prick if someone asks a few questions is another. I guess thats just what you choose to behave like.

I think the questions that no one has asked yet is:
1. What's the power level of this car? 2. What is the status of the vehicles tune, especially Torque Management? The reason by this is important is that if the vehicle has a stock tune and is making 650 WHP or less, the 315/35/17 will go faster than the commonly accepted 305/45/17. This has been well documented and proven by cwebster. He gains 2 tenths from going to the shorter/lighter tire with this stock tune/power level.

Stock is 305/30, not 35 on the ZL1 and I believe 325/25 on the ZLE

Having said that, your car will be without a doubt faster with the 26" tire. cwebster did it on Hoosier DR2's. Nitto's don't hook as good with big power but run narrow, you could run that 315/35/17 NT-05R on a 10" wheel without issues. You can get a MT Street SS or an ET Street R in that size, but an 11" wheel would be ideal if you can get one.

My APEX wheels have the same ET43 rear offset so that looks good but the bolt pattern I am not sure about. APEX wheels for the Camaros are 5x120mm, but the Forgestar is 5x4.75. Converting 120mm to inches is 4.72 and change which seems close but not 100% sure thats close enough. The center bore I cant see specs on to verify, but it should be 67.1mm I believe. |

Possibly these? Center bore is notably bigger than 67.1 though and again the bolt pattern is a bit off.

Give Paul a shout at PK Auto, he’s the Forgestar dealer and is awesome at answering all the technical questions.
