Bluetooth no longer works

So, recently, my bluetooth has not been working in the morning strangely enough. I try restarting the car, I try turning off my bluetooth and quitting spotify and then reconnecting. Nothing. I try again. Nothing. Any suggestions? It shows the song and everything, I can go to the next song. Just no audio regardless of the volume. The volume on my phone doesn't matter since it ties into the volume in the head unit over bluetooth. Galaxy S10+ here.

What's strange is I have a Note 9 and the volume on my phone and volume in the car are separate from each other

2017? They changed the infotainment system. I know because I tried a 2018, separate volumes, and a 2019 right next to the car that the volumes tied into each other.

Do you have a WiFi hotspot, or pay for one through OnStar? I had your problem. Because you mentioned Spotify. Only way to listen is if you are offline, unless you pay for a hotspot. You got it for free for a while, then they make you pay. $15 a month for 2Gigs. I am 99.9 percent sure that is it!

No I don't use Spotify through the head unit. I use it on my phone and then it streams it over Bluetooth.

The volume on my S6 definitely affects what goes out over Bluetooth.
I had some volume problems when I first got the car. There is an android app called "rocker locker" which allows you to tie the volume rocker switch to media volume by default. I used this and have not had any problems. I still have to override the volume "safety limit" for listening to media when I first link the phone, which means hitting "ok" and using the rocker to increase the volume.

It doesn't work the same starting in 2019. Basically, from what I could gather from experience, the previous gen infotainment system didn't tell the phone it was like a pair of bluetooth earphones. In 2019 and newer with the updated system, it acts like a pair of bluetooth headphones...you can actually see if you are on your phone if you adjust the volume from the stereo, it also changes the audio on the phone as that slider at the top appears and slides up or down with the stereo volume. They tie into each other.

Figured it out. Apparently with the last update on my phone, it will not output audio if do not disturb is turned on. Pretty odd "feature." Turning it off, it outputs audio immediately and turning it back on stops the output.

Don't mean to hijack thread, but since we're on the subject of bluetooth.... this is something my Cruze also does, ill get in the car to go somewhere and when I plug in the USB or it connects by bluetooth it automatically starts making a call to my phones voicemail. On my 2020 SS I'm able to hang up the call, but on the Cruze (2017), it freezes up and I cant hang it up or listen to music or anything. I have to turn off the car, get out of my car, get my phone as far away from the car as possible so it disconnects so it will work properly. Anyone else having this issue? It doesnt happen all the time. its just random. I have a NOTE 10 plus with latest software Verizon

Strangest thing I have heard but also something that would happen to me! Do you have an automation set up on the phone to call your voicemail when it connects to bluetooth LOL
