It works .... sort of. Transmission does what it is supposed to do, but the car is not quicker in the quarter mile. (Maybe ....., more testing needed because of changing DA and changing track conditions) Changed the tables as per KingLT1's TUTD Manual Mode Tuning thread in Transmission section (Using current tuning values for Full Throttle Shift Speed and Full Throttle Shift RPM). The car will definitely leave in 2nd gear now. Problem is, with just four passes so far for testing, the car appears to be slower leaving in 2nd. It is a very smooth launch (I liked it a lot), more controllable, no tire spin, no 1-2 shift. Made two passes leaving in "Drive" and two leaving in M-2. Quickest 60' and E.T. were with first gear leave in "Drive". I'm guessing at this point that leaving in M-2 provides more benefit to higher horsepower cars. I can see the benefit for roll racing for sure. There was one unexpected side effect concerning the burnout. I like to start the burnout in M-1 and shift to M-2, hold it a few seconds and roll out spinning the tires into the dry. With this trans tune in M-1, it auto shifts to M-2 and then auto shifts again to M-3. The extra wheel spin speed causes the rear end of the car to drift out to the right on the roll out. The problem is due to having to bring the RPM up in M-3 to stay in the power band. Didn't think to look at the speedo, but the tires are spinning a lot faster. I'll have to think about this some more.

Bottom line, tuning changes work on this 2016 SS. Don't know about 2017+. Still need to analyze all the data logs and time slips to see what was going on. I'll post back if there is anything significant. NOTE: Complicating matters for analysis purposes is this track ALWAYS looses traction as the day goes on. They only prep once and allow street tires in both lanes. The first pass is always the best pass. In addition, the DA was rising. It started at +500 feet (excellent for around here) and was up to +1000 feet by the last run.

4 Runs:

1.) "Drive" Launch - 10.7694 @ 125.77 W/ 1.4893 60' @ 12:26 PM - Track Run: 15

2.) M-2 Launch - 10.8117 @ 127.19 W/ 1.5388 60' @ 12:51 PM - Track Run: 37

3.) "Drive" Launch - 10.8424 @ 125.98 W/ 1.5891 60' (Spun tires in first) @ 1:30 PM - Track Run: 78

4.) M-2 Launch - 10.8707 @ 125.70 W/ 1.5596 60' @ 1:45 PM - Track Run: 96

Granted, the second pass which was a M-2 leave was the second quickest of the day and had +2 MPH on the other three runs. However; for comparison purposes, I think it is more accurate to compare pass one to pass two as one data set; and the same for passes three and four because of the changing DA and the gradual loss of traction.

The data logs DID reveal something significant. In Manual mode the car is shifting 400 RPM early in the 2-3 and and 3-4 shifts and 100 RPM early in the 4-5 shift. Converter lock up is in third gear at 67 MPH and 3-4 shift is at 70 MPH; too close. "Drive" launch completes 3-4 shift at 76 MPH. Still have work to do. And don't know what to do, if anything can be done, about the 1.54 and 1.59 60' times. The first 1st gear launch was 1.49 and the car's best is a 1.47.

The two M-2 launch runs were remarkably consistent shifting within 10 RPM on both runs. Early impressions at this point are, for this car, TUTD Manual Mode Tuning could have some value for bracket racing, index racing or roll racing, but not for low E.T. But, still have work to do .....
