I see more people swapping the ZL1 grill for the SS grill. SS looks better. Unless you are tracking the ZL1 the grill is functional for more down force. Other than that there is nothing pretty about it. Looks kind of goofy to me.

To me, I’m a bit 50/50 with the conversion kits. I do like the ZL1 Bumper but I really like the SS too. So I just took the things I like from the ZL1 and put it on mines. The best part I like about my build which is different from others is that I get my CF splitter and Carnards which is functional since I tracked the car and noticed the difference...Some people asked me at car shows does it come from the factory like that because how everything is put together. Long story short..it’s your build and use your car to express how you feel!

i saw a ss with a zl1 front clip at a tracknight. It looked really good! You can keep the old front clip if you're worried about resale, right?

Frankly, there are ZL1 bumper conversion kits for all styles of Camaro, including the LT and RS packages. I will eventually add the ZL1 kit to my RS as I believe it looks superior to the LT and SS front ends. And as long as the vehicle is still badged as an RS or SS, those that know Camaros know what's under the hood. It's no different than any other cosmetic change, IMO.

I did it (Not the AA one though. Not a fan of the angles.) because I simply like the look better than the SS front bumper. I don't care what car it looks like. It's just a bad ass front end, so I bought it. I didn't and never would badge my car as anything other than what it is. But bumpers, splitters, side skirts, wheels, wings; I'll change in a heartbeat if I like the way they look better. It's my car, so... plus I have over 1300hp to a ZL1s 650. If they call me a poser they'll have to do it from about 2 bus lengths behind me.

Who cares what anyone else thinks. If you believe it is worth your money do it. If we all asked others opinion we we never have those incredibly looking Donk Camaros with the 28 inch wheels.

Can someone explain why this bumper couldn't have been put on all the Camaros.
Why are there so many variants and all odd ugly azz?
To give further incentive to buy the higher trims and to be able to differentiate between them by the exterior of the car, which is prestigious if you drive higher end models.

For the OP question, I'm on the fence, in a way you could argue it's like fake badging but in another it's just a beauty mod, even though it's false advertisement for what car you really have lol.

The front bumper on the ZL1 serves a cooling purpose because of the supercharger, intercooler, other coolers and downforce in the front of the car and not because of aesthetics(good looks)! The same holds true for the ZL1 1LE also! Geez people!

I'm not a fan of the ZL1 grill. It always reminded me of a Locomotive Cow Catcher.

I just installed ZL1 style side skirts and front splitter. It gave my SS exactly the look I wish it had from factory. I probably won’t go any further with ZL1 type appearance mods. Like others said, your money, your car. Do what makes you happy.

Do they all have what looks like a wall piece of black plastic behind the ZL1 grille like the car on the 1st page?

My 2 cents' is that this is the best looking frontend, proportions are just perfect, aggressive enough but isn't overdoing any aspect. I understand the need for extra cooling in the ZL1, my point is simply esthetic.

I agree with you arpad_m about the SS front end! It looks like it belongs on the car and that’s what I thought when I owned my 2016 2SS.
