It is on constantly, giving you % life left based on GM algos. It is in one of the menues on the front dash (dont recall which one at the moment, but it is easy to check. Of course, assuming you reset it when new oil is put in.
It starts at 100% and goes down from there. I never let it go below 50% on all my cars. Fyi. Cheers!

Ah ok. I’ve seen the % but thought additionally a light would come on. Thank you.

It is quite possible a warning will come on close to, or at zero, but for obvious eeasons ive never seen one. I tend to recall that a warning "change oil soon" will display if my memory serves me right - based on what's in owner's manual. Cheers!

I believe that the LT1 has its own oil separator built in anyway.
