There is no sunroof option on any Mustang. It is weird. It's the only vehicle Ford makes without a sunroof

Could it be that they are concerned about hitting a point where the powertrain exceeds the capability of the chassis?
That is a good point.

With the automatics these days and launch control all you really have to do is let the pedal go and hold on.

There really is no skill required, if you can hold the steering wheel straight and your right foot works you can take an automatic down the strip.
The only "driver mod" that could possibly make a difference is how much they weigh, let a 110lb teenager take your car down the strip for a new record lol

That is a good point.
They also don't make any Halo convertibles either. A GT500 convertible would be awesome.

I'm always the first mention the fact that auto cars require no skill to drive aside from perhaps some throttle feathering, but regardless the launch matters. Whether thats attributed to the surface, level of prep, or launch RPM.

So you can say that but there's a reason gt500s will run 10.6s to 11.6s on prepped drag strips. The launch and prep of the car prior has an effect.

When I was shopping I was really bummed that there was not a 1LE Vert. I totally understand why there isn’t, but then I looked at the ZL1 Vert and thought “a 1LE is basically a ZL1 without the supercharger and the big grille”. Then I fell back to reality and bought the SS Vert.

But then I was also bummed that there was not a Fifty in ZL1 trim.

When I was 17 I picked up a 71 Cutlass Supreme Convertible I really liked the car and found out that I liked the idea of a Vert more than I liked owning one. In the end I ended up back in a 71 Cutlass Supreme W25 Ram Air Hardtop.

Clearly my inner 17-yr old won out. But earlier today I was on the CamaroFest registration page, once again frustrated at the fact that I will not be able to drive on NCM road course.

I think Ford is stupid for still making their cars without a sunroof option in 2020. Especially at what these cars cost. You can option in a sunroof on the competitor's cars and still be cheaper. The speed limiter has been my gripe since I heard about it. I just can't do it. Even if I could get past a solid roof, the limiter is just too much.
Do you open your sunroof alot when you hit 180mph so often???

The GT500 and Hellcat will always be faster than the ZL1 when the conditions permit. However outside of those conditions the ZL1 can definitely beat both of those cars. The 500 and HC will eventually catch it. But you'll be north of 120 MPH before that happens. And one of those cars will carry that lead all the way while the other one will get gapped around 181...
Again you keep saying conditions when it's only 1 condition that will matter and it's traction. You also keep talking about 180mph. If the GT500 is 4 seconds ahead at 150 it will probably be 10 seconds ahead at 180 and it is going to take you another minute for the ZL1 to get past it. But your road course probably allows for that i guess. Does your road course allow you to bring the bottle with you out on the track?

I get why there isn't an ss 1le vert, but like yourself when I look at the zl1 vert I can see how there could be an SS 1le vert lol... at least it's not so hard to replicate the look for those that really want it.

To take this on a tangent once again, the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger are 50k 60k and 70k plus minus and the Challenger is selling but does not offer a Vert.
If they had a Vert would they sell that much more? I remember about 6 years ago they had a Vert mule that they were testing but the platform did not lend itself to being able to support it.

I would think it was the cost analysis or weight that prevented FCA from offering it.
