That is a very small delta in 3 laps, glad you admit that now. |

If it walks like a duck...
No. I'm not admitting that now. Let me be clear about that. Because either you are very naive, or you intentionally act like you don't understand things that are simple. Your answer is a FOS. Human error and tires are not the reason it lost a full second on the third lap. If that is the case then something is terribly wrong with that car that a Human driving it has difficulty keeping the performance up after the first lap. And if it is the tires then that shows that Ford did not put enough development into a $94K performance car during the 6 years that it was away and while they were benchmarking the ZL1...which doesn't lose a full second after 3 laps BTW. So there is something soo far off with this $94K vehicle that while other cars are continuing to go around a track at high speeds it is falling soo far off that the 3rd lap results might as well be from a completely different vehicle. |

Correct the gt3 is 1000lbs less, so it shows a heavy car will loose time do to weight and balance. So is the gt500 a one hero lap car. You just don’t hear the Camaros loosing this kind of time. Reminds me of the old gt500 vs zl1. It had a fast first lap, but kept losing each lap by a lot. The zl1 sustained lap times. So is it the same for this gt500?

I think Ford got it right this time, and don't consider fast tire wear due to weight a problem to discount the car on. Makes it way more expensive to track, but as long as the tires hold up I think the 500 will too.

I’m sure the gt500 will track very well tho, just odd that the only 2 times that I have read or watched a car review, they mention time lost per lap. And both just happen to be gt500’s.

What matters (at least to me) is how a car makes me feel driving it, that is the human element that keyboard racers really have no clue about, unless they have actual seat time in all models they are going on about. I love my SS 1LE, but if given the chance to own even a standard GT3 (even if the lap times and stats were close), I would trade it off in a heartbeat.

ZLE has similar braking and cornering to C7 ZR1:
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...d-test-review/ Can't believe it's a Camaro. I also can't believe the GT500 is a Mustang. Good times. |

FWIW, you have provided great debate on that other forum. Reinforced with a balanced factual approach and experience. I suppose that you just can't reason with one whom only sees the world through oval, blue colored glasses.

It is VERY frustrating trying to talk cars with someone completely blinded by their bias though. Hard to ignore them sometimes. But there are a lot of true car guys over there as well which makes hanging out worth it. I just have to take a break when the B.S. stacks too high and come back later with a fresh perspective, haha!! |

IIRC it was in the owners supplement that if you planned to track it to swap the brake fluid. I think there was a video of someone that did swap the fluid swap and nothing else and it made a world of difference |

I think it's been said those tires start to loose grip after a couple laps anyways. That was one of the objectives with ZLE's special Goodyears - they don't give up - at least not as easily. Still... a lap is a lap.
