LPE supplied this insert to make the swap a little more appealing! part number #L850212017

Pretty simple install I added a pic to show the comparison of the way that Redline did their's in that article that came out last year vs how LPE does their's.

Edelbrock hooked me up with a new lid and now I can install my Kong badges with no rubbing. I cut short knowing I would do the insert eventually. That's what led to the rubbing.

That piece does look good but you really should clean up the edges of metal that you cut on the hood. Make sure to seal them so the paint doesn’t lift and corrosion sets in.

To answer your question/statement. Here and FB.

Well it was crap ton cheaper than going the maggi non cut route using e85 only no meth for fueling at the power level I wanted to be at. I wanted to fill up on 93, e85, or both and not worry about it. I drive my car not trailer it to the track.. For instance in march we are going to San Antonio.. If I went the maggi way I would be taking cans of meth or having to source it when i got there (LT4 fuel system w meth for 1000 rwhp).

Seems like a no brainer to cut the hood now, right?.. Before someone mentions it ya I saw GPI is working on a port kit all ready. But as I stated before the the maggi is 1200.00 more than the eforce initially, Then 200 for a snout, then the port injection cost $$$ from GPI?

or I have the option of the Fore and XDI DI system for about 15k w labor to fuel it like I want to fuel it..

Nah I'm cutting the hood!

what else ya got?

You forgot about the coil relocate or $$$ of new valve covers. The end of the day, the eforce is significantly less $$ and has more fueling choices.

Turns out I gained some room by adding the insert
so I installed the 19mm spacer i had been using a 3/8 spacer.

Could probably run a 1 inch spacer if I cut the hood like gotswap and used no carbon insert but, you would need to make these suttle changes. See pic.

Here are a few pics of the spacer. If you want one call Western Metals in Houston tx they have my cad file under my name less than 30 bucks can make any thickness.

I may have one made out plastic so I can stop some transfer of heat.

I'd like to say I'm done but I have the Carbon Fiber tipped Borla Atak system on the way, I still need a carbon rear diffuser(need the Chinese New year to end), and trunk mount reservoir to install.

I’d like to see some numbers comparing various spacer heights.

If I was in your shoes, & I wish I was, I’d go as much as a 2”-3” spacer in say .5” increments to really evaluate runner length impact. May not fit under the hood but for research purposes on the Dyno the hood could be removed for testing.

Either way, love the car & what you are doing.

Also, have you considered an inter-chiller?

That was the plan, I had 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 spacer. The plan was to test all these parts along with the 103 vs the 112mm TB.. Just ran out of time I was down 10 months and wanted the car back.

I plan to do some more testing with Vararam Industries on the 6 gen intakes they have a 5 inch intake that looks promising I picked up 42 rwhp now that I'm back and running with unlimited fuel I'll see if Patrick want to start testing again and I'll see if we can test spacers..

I really don't want to mess wit the AC system. I do have a tank for trunk that i need to install and a EMP stewart pump. I made mine a little different...
