You might see a little difference in the stock and 95 but it won't be a killer pick up.

And if there is improvement, then the snout might just be good for about that power range.

You're helping me figure out the most effective way to get to where I want to be. I'd like to see about 700-RWHP (without going into the engine), and don't really want more (I won't turn it away though, HA). I know I can get that with a ported 1.7, but I want the cooling and efficiency of the 2650. AND... I want to keep close to CARB-status (swapping intakes is easy, and I don't want to swap pulleys if possible) because I have to, so if a ported 95 (stock appearing) on the standard snout (I already have a RF) can get me there, I'd prefer to save the money on the upgraded snout. I need to stay on 91, so I know I can't run E' unless I put a cam in it. Or... I should talk to Ted, and see if a BOP will allow me to run E', and maybe eek a little more power out of him (maybe that might work for you, too). I'd like the flexibility of E' (since I can get it around here), so maybe a BOP will be good enough... Anyways...

Please keep us posted. And thanks for keeping our attention, HAHAHA. I still have to convince my better half I need a 2650, HAHAHA. She hasn't said no yet... CARB-compliance and efficient use of mods' are what I'm after, and you're shedding light for me, so my continued "Thanks!!!"
Please feel free to call and discuss your project.

E60 will limit you to about 675 RWHP I expect the TVS 2650 to push you past this number how much I don't know.

Either way you will need the JMS Fuel pump voltage booster.

I have several TVS 2650 in stock ready to go.

Ted.

Parts arrive tomorrow: ported LT5 Tb, Big Gulp and Kooks w/high flow cats. Question for Mike, Greg or Ted - what would an 85 or 80mm pulley do for boost? And, what size belt would I have to run? I assume it would be a smaller belt than the current gates green on my 90mm pulley.

Going to inspect parts and assuming all is as advertised (new and not damaged), I’ll order the voltage booster and HPtuner from Ted.

Gotta ask, why the ported 95tb vs just getting a 103tb? Like to here from the Tuners as well, why 95 and not go with the 103?

Usually 1.5 to 2 lbs of boost for every 5mm to 6mm change in the pulley is what we see. Your going to see a lose of boost with the long tubes of maybe up to 2 lbs, maybe a little less since your going to run somewhat of a cat. Don't know what the high flow lets thru compared to the stock cats. The 85 will probably get you back to where you were with the stock exhaust. I'd buy both and probably go with a griptec or you can buy our pulley down to the 80mm. We haven't built any lower then that yet that I'm aware of

I'm not sure what the big deal is with the 95. You have to have an adapter to make it work.

I bought a ported 95 and adaptor that had never been used for a great price from another forum member. Saves me from buying a new snout and I’ve been unable to get a deal on a 103. At some point I’ll go bigger, for now I figure I’ve gone up 10mm in tb diameter for less than 1/2 what it would have cost to go up 16mm.

95 tunes easier...smoother throttle transitions. Some people care about drivability and don't live their life a 1/4mi at a time.

Loss of boost from better flowing exhaust doesn't mean less power...it just means you removed a restriction and that is all Boost is a measure of.

I don't recall, is the 2650 already set for the 95TB or does the snout need to be opened up to take advantage of the larger size. I do think the 103 snout is avail as an option. Just asking these questions before i make a purchase. I don't want to have regrets buying multiple TBs.

Looks like he didn't have to order a snout. I've not seen anyone use the 95 on the smaller snout so I can't comment on that. King is right, doesn't mean you loose power, but you may still need a smaller pulley.

@IneedAZ: I’m going to have to use an adapter for the 95 tb. The standard snout is for an 87mm (stock ZL1). Magnuson offers optional 103 and 112mm snouts. See Ted J’s posts about the 112mm snout.

@laynlow15, King or others- how do I determine belt size for the smaller pulleys? Looks like the only LT4 pulley ZPE has in stock is an 85mm. What gates belt do I need?
