Over at m6g, I see guys changing cars every year or two. Once the mustang gets a update, they all run to the new one. Really weird just to throw that kind of money away. Today I did a search of used gt350 in a 100 mile radius of me. There were 24 and all but one with less then 8000 miles. The ones that were 16 -18 must of really lost due to high demand and ADM. huge loss for them. Then did same years of zl1’s, there was only 2. Not many 6 gen Camaro’s for sale either, but tons of mustangs. So that article at least in my area seems true.

Can't, they depreciate so fast you're underwater for the whole term of the note. (which isn't always a bad thing, as in...Oh well Honey, it looks like we have to trade your car for the SUV)

I could believe it - I had picked up a used 88 Iroc-Z Convertible that I kept for over 15 years... Sold it to get my son a pick up when he learned to drive...
Now 2 years later, I picked up a 17 SS Convertible - which I can definitely see keeping for 15+ years! |

this. why try to sell cars that aren’t worth anything? you could pick up a NICE 4th gen car 5 years ago for cheap.

And don't forget if you are depending on a 401k for retirement you need $1,000,000 to generate $40K of yearly income. As for me I am hoping the 2020 Camaro I ordered will stay around a long time. Chant with me: I must stop buying cars. I must strop buying cars. I must stop buying cars.......

I bought a new 2016 SS vert in Nov 2016 and got 27% off, sold it 9 months later for $1,200 less than I paid and put 6,000 miles on. I bought a new 2017 SS vert in Nov 2017 and got 25% off, sold it 7 months later for $1,400 less than I paid and put 5,000 miles on. Went to do the same thing December of 2019 and rebates/discounts were horrible! I mean the worst! I mean intolerable! So I bought a 19 Mustang GT vert and got 24.8% off, hope it is a nice summer. Will I buy a new Camaro SS vert again, yes if it is 25% off or more. Bear |

Not surprised, a lot of people kept their 4th gens. I'm actually surprised the miata isn't #1 and that the corvette isn't a little higher. I know people keep their 911s, I just don't see them being driven as often as miatas, fbodys, and corvettes.

I bought a 2016 ss vert new also. For 20pct off. 27 is a crazy good deal !
But even if they had a 2019 now at 25pct off I wouldn’t do it. My car hasn’t dropped all that much in value since I got it al cheap. Maybe dropped $5K in 3.5 years. But the car is perfect and has 13K miles. It’s basically new anyway. Why get another one for $10K more than my car. Not worth it to me - it’s the same car. Only reason I would do it is to switch to a 1LE coupe. But also so far still enjoying the vert and I have a second gen coupe that is prepped for track work so don’t really need or want a 1LE right now. So no thoughts of selling mine. I bought a 89 iroc 5speed perf pkg new and kept that one 9 years. I could see keeping this new one that long. Maybe even longer. Who knows. I often trade cars around but this one feels like a keeper to me so far. |
