Has anyone had a failed oil pump while modded (pulley/tune/headers/etc) and if so what where the results?

I will see if I can get mine once I pick up my car. If so I'd be happy to send it out your way Zach.

Hey Chad,

Good luck with repair. What dealer are you using to get it fixed?

Are the poll results listed for build date year or for model year? looks like 2017 is on top in the poll but from what i am reading here the 2018 cars are the ones that are failing.

That's a good point. I put a vote for 2018 since that's it's model year but the car was built 3/17.

The context seemed pretty clear to me that the year requested was build date. There were not 2016 year model ZL1s but there are 2016 build dates for 2017 ZL1s.

Well my vote should have went in the 17 bucket then. so make that 18 total 2017 failures so far of people just on this list that happen to see this poll.

Now I am confused. You have a 2018 model year that was built in 03/2017?
I have a 2017 model year that was built after that on 04/03/2017.

3/17 build date would be a 2017. I think production started around 6/20/17 for 2018's

mine failed in October while racing at the wanna go fast event. Gave me a low oil warning first, then a no oil pressure, also spun a bearing in the process. I was doing about 160mph when it happened.

Im full bolt ons, meth, cam, whipple, on pump gas.

tore up my bottom end....

Correct mine is one of the very first ZL1 1LE's ever made. It's last 6 digits of its VIN number is 000019. It's the actual car in the Oct 2017 Car & Driver Lightning Lap issue, has been in BBC's Top Gear(Sabine in the passenger seat at WSIR), The Smoking Tire and on NBC's Drive. It's what is called a Captured Test Fleet(CTF) vehicle which are production cars that can be sold after corporate use but are built about 3 months before the main production starts. These are the cars used in Magazines, final Executive sign-off etc. I bought mine as a CPO car not knowing it's history until after it was owned and I did some digging. To me it is an added benefit as the car itself has really cool history.
