Imagine how many of those have already had the motors changed and potential buyers are unaware of it. Or unaware of how to even check or know enough to run the VIN the right way to find out. I have no idea why those maintain their value the way they do.
Lol i see em too, some of them HAVE to work for ford. If they can’t see this shit they’re just blind or lying! I know you know all too well. I joined the raptor and focus RS groups looking for something for winter...and damn...cam phasers and head gaskets oh my...always liked ford, but they’re making it difficult.

I can’t imagine not doing my homework on a car, much less the 350, but then again there were 2 guys at the track attack i attended that had never driven a manual!! Forget learning heel/toe lol.

Also, concerning the others talking about the GT500 mod-ability...looks like lethal has the lund package at 800whp (cat deletes, tune, e85, ID1050x) for like $2200ish...not bad

Yah it sucks, my co worker had his new F-150 5.0 replaced due to oil consumption. A neighbor down the street from me gave up and went to Dodge after multiple cam phaser issues on his 3.5 Eco. Talking with a Ford mechanic I got to know really well through my GT350 adventures says they have plenty of warranty engine work keeping them busy. Sadly, those guys probably don’t work for Ford and they are just that big of fanboys. Or the type that has to stand up for what they bought no matter what.

Agree, I was surprised a couple of guys I met at TA that it was their first ever performance car and they got it because they just liked the look of them. They could technically drive a manual, but you could tell it had either been a long time or they had only done it for a brief time in their life. To each their own, it’s their money and they were really nice guys.

It’ll be interesting to watch if they turn it around with the Predator. I’m hoping they do because they make a lot of fun stuff and I like having competition push the manufacturers. I can’t imagine tuning that thing without driving it for awhile and getting a feel for the stock power. Never mind waiting to see if it will be reliable or not. Also curious if Ford has upped the abysmal fit and finish issues many of us had on our GT350s. Approaching 100k MSRP and over for some they better have.

I also loathe that car because it was junk. And like minn19, i have NEVER seen such widespread issues that regular members went through. One of my favorite quotes from those guys is the “it’s still less than 1% of motors blown” lol. Yeahhhh ok.

There were undoubtedly some guys who never checked their oil 3k after an oil change and were 6 quarts down, which is perfectly normal if ya ask ford. But the majority knew to check, added oil every other fill up, and got a new motor anyway, that someone else is probably dealing with the same shit now.

Someone earlier mentioned all the low mileage ones for sale...just IMAGINE how many of those are on their way to an engine swap and were simply dumped before it got too bad.

I don't think the gt500 will be very expensive at all to mod, as evident by Lunds 800hp+ build with very little hardware changes. I think if they don't burn cats they will end up being reliable stock. Ford spent a lot of time on this one, should get it right.

Why did GSJ get banned? He didn't do anything out of the ordinary on this thread?

I dont typically want posters to get banned especially in a vs forum but in his case it seemed overdue.

Dude has done nothing but harass people lately. He adds nothing to any of the conversations. Not even one bit of technical data. I debate people but at least I offer up info or thoughts and ideas for the conversation. All he has done these past few weeks is reply to people with smartass condescending trash talk. I been stopped replying to him yet he continues following me around quoting every comment I make with nothing but trash talk. And then he started harassing others and bringing his drama from M6G over here. He lies and makes up completely false stories like his story about Minn19 or how Hotlap and I had something to do with him getting banned back in 2014. And then he calls people "magazine racers" and issues out personal challenges to people but then makes accusations and insults them when they choose not to accept his challenges. He goes on completely unintelligible and illegible rants that make no sense and are full of made up nonsense. So no wonder his ass got banned or suspended. It was long overdue and serves him right. Heck, others have been banned and suspended for far less.

^Yes^ GSJ is a bully that misquotes and harasses people.

The guy drives a heavily modified car on the fastest track in America and then uses that experience to silence others that have raced, or are discussing racing, 100% stock cars. (btw GSJ, I ran 12.2 in my stock SS and I’m not a drag racer)

...but alas. GSJ managed to redeem himself despite having been banned previously under another name.

So when is it likely that we will see the ZL1/ZLE against the Base/CF GT500? Is Ford even going to allow it or are they gonna try to keep it from happening? I doubt Ford wants to put a $94K 760 HP top tier Mustang up against a $70K 650 HP top tier Camaro and flat out lose. And I doubt they would want anyone seeing it or publishing it. I also don't think any of the mags can actually report if Ford doesn't want this comparo to happen. For the Camaro there really is nothing to lose. So I could see GM pushing for it. We'll probably just get a comparo with them driving both cars around town and commenting on how they drive. And then they'll say they didn't have either car long enough to do performance tests but the GT500 did X on X day and the ZL1 did such and such on some other day...and they obvious comment about how both cars are great, yada yada yada, look how far we've come, blah blah blah, best America has to offer, both are supercar level performers, can't go wrong either way...

I don't think we will get to see a full on head to head like we did in 2017. In each case for these comparisons Chevy doesn't have anything to lose regardless of which Camaro or Corvette they put up against anything Ford has.

You are probably right that there will likely not be a "Big 5" head-to-head anytime soon. When I say Big 5, I mean MT, C&D, R&T, Automobile, and Cars.com. What we might see is something from the Throttle House guys who tend to rely on getting cars loaned to them by owners as opposed to car companies or dealerships. They do a pretty decent job at that, too. Better than I could do and I halfway know what I'm doing.

On the flip side of the coin, I could see GM telling the Big 5 "If you happen to get your hands on a GT500 and want to borrow a ZL1 / ZLE, you know where to find us".

I was hoping it would be permanent this time.

He adds NOTHING worthwhile to the discussion, and it's likely people who do have something to contribute stay away because of his presence.

Is a base ZL1 at least one second faster than the C8 at VIR full? I'm honestly not sure what the ZL1/ZLE will run on that track. I think Ford should be encouraging a Camaro comparison since at a similar price the C8 Z06 will annihilate it. Hell the C8 Z51 base gave it a good fight.

Change the track from VIR Full to VIR North so we can see chassis tuning vs power. Make it a three way comparison between the ZL1 A10, GT500 and Redeye.

The drag-strip part demonstrates power. Use the track to showcase the platform.

He likes to poke at people online just to get a reaction. And he and Jelena both can drive though and know a good bit about racing. Respect. I hope to get back to Atco next spring with a Camaro. My Rav4 wins only the first 25 feet against those auto coyotes, especially the low 10 second ones.

That might be fine and well (track experience) but it's amateur hour here with all this back and forth gibberish. Grade school. For the life of me I don't know how you can say "respect" and GSJ in the same paragraph...I was about to quit reading here.

It's a blessing to not have that damn annoying blue to read. Fraxum: would you mind turning your blue to black?m
