Oil Filler Tube Removal
So after doing a couple of oil changes I thought it would be nice to have a filler opening that pointed up, instead of to the drivers side. I found a great GM 45 degree adapter that would solve my issue. I inserted the adapter, gave it a turn and it clicked in place. Problem is, the opening is now pointed toward the firewall - epic fail. It is now locked in place.
Any ideas on how to remove the tube? I currently have the valve cover laying on my workbench and still can't figure out how this comes off. I suspect there are a couple of tabs which are obscured by a baffle inside the valve cover. Here is a link to the part I purchased on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Any thoughts other than buying a new valve cover?

Finally found the release clip for the tube. Never knew plastic was so strong. I tried to just break it off and failed.
Off to the dealer for a new tube in the morning. Lesson learned!

Here is a pic of the factory tube. You can see the locking tab just to the right of the blue o-ring. Easy to release once you know where to look. Could probably release it with a dental pick of sorts without removing the valve cover.
