Is there a real/permanent fix for the shudder problem yet?

Is there a permanent fix besides selling the car? I have read posts from people who have had their TC replaced say the shudder returns...

I had my 2017 flushed about 6k miles ago, and the shudder has returned worse than ever. Now I need to take back to have it flushed again.. what are the next steps if that doesn't work? Take it back for flushes every few thousand miles?

I bought mine used, and it was a certified pre-owned with powertrain warranty to 100k miles. Does that fully cover me until that period is up? Meaning no out of pocket expense to me for this problem?

I had the flush done in the spring and I haven't had any issues after a few thousand miles. I know in the beginning some said they had the TC replaced but GM wasn't doing that any longer.

Selling it doesn't solve the issue as I sold mine and bought a Blazer RS with the 9sp trans and guess what..... currently in the shop for the second time for the trans shudder

Did you have the latest fluid and flush procedure done?

Not yet - I have an appointment first week of January. The last time I had the flush was January 2019. I really hope this new flush procedure is a long term fix.

Hopefully they will replace the fluid in my rear diff also as that makes a loud groan noise on cold mornings...

Overwhelming, although still anecdotal, evidence indicates that the new fluid does work. I'm testing it myself, too, the dealership performed the "original" flush in 2018 as well as another round with the new fluid in April this year. So far, so good (truth to be told, my transmission is tuned and AFM is turned off, so the chances of the shudder rearing its butt ugly head now are minimal).

I guess your definition of a "cold morning" is vastly different from ours in northern NJ , but the diff fluid change is covered by TSB number 17-NA-287 nevertheless, just reference it with the dealership if they're reluctant to help you out. Don't forget to do the requested figure 8s immediately afterwards:

Service Procedure
1. Validate the concern by driving the vehicle to operating temperature.
2. Replace the rear differential axle lubricant.
3. Bring the gear lubricant again up to operating temperature.
4. Perform multiple figure eight or lock steer turning maneuvers to work the gear lubricant into the

clutch pack.
5. Allow the vehicle to cool (back to ambient temperature) and re-evaluate for clutch moan.
If the moan is still present, repeat steps 1-5.
The above sequence may need to be repeated two to three times to reduce/eliminate the noise.

If the newest flush per TSB #18-NA-355 doesn't work the next step should be replacement of your TC.

I had the shudder in my Colorado. The newest flush did not fix it so GM told my dealer to replace the TC. Thus far it has worked great, no shudder.

Like mentioned above, if latest fluid/flush procedure doesn't work then it's quite likely the torque converter is damaged. In my case it was so they changed it along with the latest fluid and flush

I was told they were not replacing torque converters anymore for shudder issues. Was told that by 2 dealerships. Had the flush procedure done like 4 times. All you can do after that is contact a lawyer.
