hot rod power tour. was 2800 mi total for us. plan on doing it again next year. whoever said the maro is a great road trip car, i disagree. sure it’s a blast to drive, but storage, luggage, cabin arrangement etc sucks. basically lived out of the car for 9 days. i really had to revamp the list for next year. or maybe take the back seats out.

We did our first trip from San Jose to Disneyland almost 2 mths ago. The Grapevine was so much fun in the 1LE!!! Took that section way faster than I should have, but thanks to Waze, no tickets. The SS 1LE just loves those windy roads. Although, I think I had slight vertigo afterwards for a bit, lol.

Got to about 130-140ish on a few stretches of I-5, and averaged about 90-95 most of that straight stretch.

So nice to get it out of the daily grind commute and on the open roads.

Since we did extensive travelling in 2018 in our old car, my wife and I didn't do much travelling this summer. We bought the Camaro in March, and although we drove it around here quite a bit, the only long trip we took was a getaway to Pigeon Forge, just 1200 miles round trip.

Now, the past few years I've made some long distance road trips with a friend, and we planned on it this year as well. We did a test run out to Albuquerque and back earlier in the year, a 1700 mile round trip done only with fuel stops and a half-hour break in NM. Unfortunately, the big coast-to-coast run had to be cancelled when a pickup ran into the back of the Camaro just before the trip, and it was out of commission for about three weeks before the repairs were finished.

Although the wreck made us miss the window for the coast-to-coast run, once we got the Camaro back, my wife & I gave it a shakedown run around Missouri - what I call the Triangle Run, from Springfield to KC to St. Louis and back to Springfield. That's only 600 miles, something that can easily be done in a day with a long stop for lunch and fuel.

So, from March until now, I've put just under 7k miles on the car - I had hoped to put twice that much on it. Hopefully we will be able to put more miles on it in 2020!

We've taken our RS Vert to our lake house near Warsaw, IN a few times and a quick weekend run to Saugatuck, MI. It's also a daily driver for me until the snow flies here in northwest Indiana.

I took a little jaunt in September.

1500 miles, crossed the mountains, saw King Crimson, went to the Corvette Museum, ran the Dragon, spent some time with family, and ate like a king.

No significant road trip in 2019. I am fortunate to live in the Berkshires. Many twisty back roads to either take in the peace... or carve up.
In 2018 I went from MA to TN to run the Dragon. Hooked up with another member out there (gpskinzhut) who showed me around and pummeled me on the Dragon. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Top down all the way out to TN and back. Will do it again some day. I really enjoy this car and can't wait for spring to bust her out again.

You shipped it to Germany, from Florida, this year too ...correct?

In DFW on I-20 or I-635 I have regularly had people cut me off at 90+ ... in a way it's nice because Texas is fricken huge and it takes like 6 hours to get from Austin to Lousiana but if you feel like cruising and dont want to go fast it can get darn right scary.
You guys, back in 1978 we drove - in a slant 6 Plymouth Duster - from Las Vegas to NJ. At 55 MPH.

it would have been pretty scary to go faster in one of those!

have not done it yet, but I'd really like to do highway 101 south following the pacific coast from WA state all the way down to Crescent City, CA, through the red wood forests, then cut over across the mountains to Klamath Falls, see Crater Lake, then return north on the east side of the mountains through central Oregon, stop in Bend, hit several of the hot springs along the way, and then finish by coming back through Mt. Ranier national park.
