Is there any easy way to pop the camera off and see if the plug just came loose before I take it to the dealer?

It's cutting in and out intermittently, the guides don't show up sometimes, and sometimes the whole screen just goes black and pops up "Service Rear Vision System".

On a related note, I've been having a lot of issues around the back end lately, if you scroll through my threads. I'm starting to wonder if something happened back there before I bought it.

1. Camera acting up.
2. Center brake light fills with humidity after washing.
3. Trunk lid paint flaked on edge.
4. The bumper alignment is off on the driver side where it meets the fender.

I know these are all kind of common, probably just poor quality control on GM's behalf, but still frustrating to have these all happen on a brand new car.

I have a 2017, and have none of these problems ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I even replaced my 3rd with the ZL1 style dark light. The only concern I have with mine is the trunk hits the bumper if you let it slam closed which is causing a minor scuff on the bumper right in the center under the bowtie. But my remedy is easy, Just let the trunk close nice and easy don't let it slam. I would bring up all of these concerns with the dealer. I know they are frustrating to deal with no matter how minor.

did you buy it new or used?..Almost sounds like it might have been in an accident

My back camera acts up too. I'm trying to catch it on video to show proof to the dealer. But it never acts up when I'm ready to catch it on video lol.

Hey Living_Quiet could you give an update on how this all shook out? I am having the exact same problem with my rear camera on my 2019 Camaro.

Same, when it’s hot out. Service dept hasn’t been able to diagnose the issue.

Mine did this for about a week then went straight to black with the service message on top. The parking lines still move as well.



I went to a dealership that did a free 30-minute diagnostic but they could only say that the rear bumper needs to come off for further diagnostic. I'm probably gonna take the rear bumper off myself and see if I can tell anything. Hopefully, it's just come loose.

If I can't find out the issue I may just go to the dealer with the rear bumper off LOL

Mine was flashing (like the video), would stay on while I was driving forward, or delay coming on. It finally died the other day.

I cringe to take it in. I just got it back from the dealer body shop (they had it for 6 weeks) and I'm already going to have fight them over all the scratches on the paint and interior.
