Stock dyno test and First mods for the ZL1 1LE

Hi! I just took the ZLE to the dyno to do some test runs before installing the first mods. In the video you will see the numbers(heartbreaking) and how mods looks. This is a 2 part video so I will upload here the second part as soon as I can.
Enjoy!

You are right. Honestly I don't know the reason but there is another ZL1-1LE that did the same power as my car. So at least I know is consistent.

Not all dyno's read the same numbers. You can dyno the same car on two different dynos and get a completely different result.

Mustang dynos are always the lowest or one of the lowest reading, so that is probably the reason. What is the octane of fuel there? Maybe mix in 4 gallons of 100 unleaded and test again--this will eliminate fuel as an issue. Were boost and AFR normal?

Also, you said it was getting some knock and tuner said maybe because it's tuned rich--knock is the OPPOSITE thing you get when rich, knock results from lean AFR (vs. rich AFR), high boost, and/or too much timing. That's why GM tunes the cars rich, to avoid knock in these monster SC motors when customers get bad fuel or even choose 87 at the pump

I would question the tuner's knowledge if they actually said that, it's a basic tuning 101 thing

I think the fuel is the issue, ive never seen a dyno under 500whp before I was even dynoed stock on a mustang over 560. Sure there are variances but the car sounds lazy for some reason, like its taking its time to rev. As long as you are happy though thats all that matters, they are amazing cars!

Dynos can also be manipulated.

I understand what you are saying man. Maybe is a fuel problem. But I'm using the best 93oct available in this Island.
Also, maybe I didn't translate correctly the part that he talk about the car running rich. He didn't say that it was knocking because it running rich. I asked what he saw and he mention that it was rich and it was knocking a little. But he is not the tuner, he is the mechanic and he was just taking the logs because the tuner had to go out of the shop due to an emergency.
Also like I mentioned before, there's another ZL1-1LE that was tuned in this dyno and the stock numbers were the same.

Ok, the fact that another ZL1 had the same numbers on that dyno is a very good sign. And you were running 93, from a top tier brand right? 50 WHP below other ZL1s seems in line with the Mustang dyno differences I've seen on other cars. I'm guessing it's the dyno and your car is fine, take it to a drag strip and see what times it puts down. That's always a better way to gauge power, as long as you can get a good launch. You could also try a good virtual dyno app on the freeway, and just do some rolling launch high speed pulls to test it.

That is the lowest I have seen. Hoping it is the dyno and not the car.

I don't think is the car. Since there's another ZL1-1LE making the same power stock.
