I do like some of the things that come on a 2SS like cooled seats, leather, and dual zone climate, better audio, blind spot etc... But i also like the idea of race car (really want recaro seats). I really wish the 1LE was offered as a 2SS, I would just go that route. I am currently going to wait until the local dealer gets a 1LE to see what I think, I've seen the Fifty in person and really like it. Any input on this?
I test drove the 50th along with another 2ss in hyper blue on Friday, with the intention of pulling the trigger on a 50th going into the experience, and not knowing much if anything about the 1LE option on a 1SS and what one actually gets with that.
I also got to drive both the AT and the MT, thankfully.

First off, on the 50th: meh. Don't get me wrong-- it is a nice looking car, but I agree entirely with the sentiment above that it's basically a badge and some extra stickers along with the added splitter on the front end. IMO, there should have been some actual performance differences and perhaps a body color for the car that isn't available on other models. You can still get that nightfall grey built out on other 6th gen cameras.

The sales guy asked me what I wanted this car for after we got back from the test drive, and I told him it would be for short commutes to work during the week mixed in with the SUV, spirited weekend driving, and by this time next year, some track time.
That's when he educated me about the 1LE, and I got the chance to sit in the recaro seats back in the showroom in a CTS-V.

I went home and researched the 1LE package a bit more and looked at the creature comforts and more importantly safety features I would be giving up by not getting a 2SS.
Yes, the latter in particular bother me a little, but I've also gotten by for my entire life without the cross traffic alert monitoring. I will however, miss the car alerting me when someone is approaching from the rear and when I'm getting too close, but the back up camera is still there for you to gauge distance.

At the end of the day, I realized the 1LE package is exactly what I want from a 6th gen camaro performance wise-- at least on paper, and is worth pulling the trigger on.
The $6500 cost of that package represents real value that can be realized when you're driving this car on the streets or track and I think MRC will help a lot to make it a nice drive around town on not so great roads, even with a stiffer suspension.

So, as of now (check back with me in 2 weeks lol) I'm going with the 1SS/1LE

The 6gen SS already has Really excellent driving characteristics and suspension setup. That kind of puts in question what the true purpose/value of the wE will be this time.
I just noticed your ride-- I just sold my 2011 GTS cab.
Terrific car and I already miss it, but I wasn't driving it enough. Loved PDK but over the last year, had been wishing I had it in a 6MT.
Anyway, it found a good home.

Cool. I've contemplated selling my GTS but whenever I look at or drive her, I'm reminded of how special this car really is. There is literally no car out there, within my financial reach, I'd rather have right now. I AM always watchful however; for cars on the horizon that might end up as a second sports/y car. The 1LE "might" fit that bill, but I have greater hopes that the next gen mid-engine Corvette will be simply irresistible. I've been waiting to see, drive, & read about this new 1LE for far too long. I really look forward to seeing how it drives.

To be fair this is the 1LE forum so we are going to be biased. Try posting this on the Fifty forum oh wait there isn't one!

Advantage 1LE

The 997.2 GTS is a VERY special car, no question. I would literally just stare at my car many a day, even after owning it for more than 3 years.

I like your plan on waiting on the mid engine Vette (didn't realize that was coming). That would be a wicked 2 car combo.

I'm not just a Vette guy/fan ........ for me, it's down to the M2 or the 1LE as my next fun ride-- in a 6MT. Both very different cars, yes, but both plenty fun.
Right now, I'm leaning towards the 1LE-- especially if the word about GM backing up the warranty even with track use-- is validated in writing.

When I buy my car next year, I'm going 1LE, for the money it's hard to beat. I'm going to vote 1LE on this one.

The 1LE can be ordered with 2SS and weighs virtually the same because the 1SS version comes with all the ducting and equipment minus a few key parts to make it work, everything else is virtually the same weight.

Both nice cars , however if you really have to ask this question you are probably not a 1LE guy.

I purchased my 1LE from someone else, and wasn't looking for a Fifty.
However, I see on my seats and steering wheel Fifty.

I didn't even know what that meant until I looked it up...

Your best bet is to test drive a 1LE and a mortal SS to see/feel the difference!
Then wait for the mod gods to come and give you the whamy!

Or, go with the 2SS 1LE.
