6th gen ss 1le vs 5th gen z28
Both modded with higher hp, but stock brakes and suspension. Same tires. Same track. Z did a 1:47.3 and was beating up on zl1 1le's, SS was very fast at 1:48.66. Z has 606 rwhp, SS has 540. Laps done at Auto club speedway in California. Put some earbuds in and listen to the z at work. Amazing car and sound. https://youtu.be/DCrTnn7MsH0

Your next step: Taking that 18 SS 1LE, throwing a LT427 into it, and making the modern day equivalent of a Z28.

An alignment and tires would be a much more cost effective way to lower times.

Yeah I can vouch that horsepower is king at ACS. Good driving and lines. Love these Gen5 and Gen6 Camaro's.
Stock SS 1LE will get you under 2:00 mark everytime. Z's and ZL1's will get you playing with 1:50's or sub 1:45's. Love to get mine in the shop for added HP. Awaiting funds and warranty to expire. |
