Carbon Fiber or Plastic ?

Im attaching a pic of my drivers side Dive Plane. My son hit it with his shin while walking around the car in the garage, snapping the upper two mounting tabs. The research Ive done tells me I can get one of these from a few GM OEM Parts site for 65.00ish. However, my dealer is telling me that I have to buy a pair and the shrouds for like 500ish since there Carbon Fiber. They dont look Carbon Fiber to me. They seem like plastic with some sort of embossed hatch pattern on them. What does the consensus say ?

They are not carbon fiber. Whomever you spoke with at your dealer is ignorant.

Buy the one dive plane you need an install it.

Here's left (driver) side.

Here's right (passenger) side.

Make sure to buy the mounting clips as well since they are likely gone. Buy extra just in case since they don’t seem to be commonly used.
