Is there a strut recall ?

My service guy glossed over it pretty quick. Searching the forum I did not see mention, but did see a few people mention clicking in their front end. Mine happened pretty quick on the way home one night. Small bumps produced tapping noise in front end. first they said a bolt had fallen out. Ended up replacing a strut and the mount.

Just curious...

No recall that i know of. Just had a front strut replaced for a creaking noise it was making.

Did replacing the strut get rid of the noise?

Struts and strut mounts are one of those items that can slip past QC on any model year. They are a common occurrence and quickly identifiable by any certified mechanic at your dealership.

Even my 2013 had an issue with the front struts -- but that year they had a very large bad batch of front assemblies that required front strut/mount replacement on both sides.

Since our cars are brand new, it is fine to replace just the bad corner and not worry about uneven characteristics.

Hey guys I have a question regarding this. It turns out I have the same issue of the left strut of my Camaro needing to be replaced. It's all under warranty so that's not the issue. The issue however is that before going to this dealership here, I went to another dealership and they told me that the thumping noise was because of my tires and told me to replace 2 tires on my vehicle even though my tires were in good shape. It was only after having the thumping noise return that I went back to them and they told me I need to replace the other 2 as well. Not trusting the dealership at this point, I went to another dealership which told me the issue was just the strut and that they have ordered it and will now replace for me once it arrives. My question is, do I have any basis to go to the first dealership and demand a reimbursement for the tires? Because of them I'm out $600 on 2 tires I didn't need. The issue is not about getting new tires early but rather the fact I wanted to change to different types of tires (Michelin) but because of the dealership I had to stick with these lousy Goodyears and will probably have to for a long time before I can switch tire types. I apologise for any grammatical or syntax errors, English is not my first language.
