Trying to sell my leased Camaro before it's lease ends. Car is clean the reason I am trying to get rid of it is because I already have another car, this one is no longer needed. trying to get out of the lease without paying the GM for remaining months.

Serious question about a lease. Isn't GM still the owner? How can you sell a leased car?

Like normal sale, except I get no money. All of it goes to GM. Buyer pays residual value and any remaining payments and title is transferred to them. Plus sales tax since car is in CA.

Why not a lease transfer? If not too may payments left, someone may jump on it. Does Ally do lease transfers in CA?

Also, last resort...

I've tried swapalease they called GM for it and it seems GM doesn't allow lease swap once remaining payments is less then 9 months or something. Not sure if it's sure or not but they didn't want to list my car.

Correction, just checked my email, it seems GM Financial doesn’t allow a trnasfer in the final 12 months of the contract.
