New Owner - Used Car
New owner here of a 2018 SS 1LE, Black, with only 3200 miles. It is in great shape, and the tires are still in great shape too. Only option was the PDR. I was fortunate to find an 18 with so few miles - practically a new car. And no offense to owners of the newer model years, but I just don't care for either the 19 or the 20, visually.
Coming from a 2011 Mustang GT Premium/Brembo package car. The Camaro is an upgrade in every manner, perhaps with the exception of visibility. But that hasn't posed a problem yet. I haven't owned a chevy since an 02 Avalanche, so I have no idea what the quality is like, but I'm hoping it's better than the ford's. The mustang had the a/c replaced *twice* outside of warranty, the paint on the rear bumper cover was popping/cracking/pealing, and the interior door panels were *literally* coming unglued. And it only had 85k miles, not bad for a daily driven 8.5 year old car. I have no intention of modding this car. The only thing I did to the mustang was mufflers. My car prior to that was a stupidly modified g35 that just ruined the car. This car is badass enough stock. |

congrats, the 1le is really fun for me. I have only had mine for a month and I am having a blast. I also wasn't a fan of the 19 20 fronts so I found an 18. Enjoy it man.

That's abysmally bad quality. I just keep seeing more and more of these Ford fail stories. For comparison, my 1996 Tacoma has none of those issues lol. |

Congrats on the new (used) car, and good choice on the 18'! I, like you, do not care for the 19'+ redesign either. I also went with a 18' 1LE last fall... just passed 1 year of ownership. As others have mentioned, post some pics, would love to see it.

You did the right thing. The 18’s are holding more value just because of the reasons you stated. Chevy has really upped their game lately and mods are not needed for this car. I have had three Camaro’s and three mustangs. The Camaro has always had a better build quality in my experience. I do miss the giant fan base of the mustang and all the vendors in that community.

A used 1LE is the performance bargain of a lifetime. That sort of performance for low $30's is INSANE!

This. I've had my 18 1LE for over 20k miles and haven't felt the need to "improve" ANYTHING. This car is just so good in stock form that I don't think that any performance or appearance gain from modding it will be worth the money spent. Lots of folks out there slapping parts on their cars, whether they get anything out of it or they're just inspired by Youtubers, good for them I guess but you really can enjoy this car unmolested. Just save your mod money for gas, tires, and brakes, you should be fine!

the cars are awesome, no doubt. after putting 12k miles on mine i determined that they are just about perfect except for one thing - they need more power. luckily the LT1 is pretty easy to get power out of. the car is so well composed that i got bored with it. flooring it isn’t fun bc it just goes. i plan on hitting a road course next year, but even then i can’t see something so easy to drive being a lot of fun...except for that .5 second you’re in a 1.3g corner.
simply personal opinion. that and since we’re being honest here, i had faster cars in 2001 than these boats.

Congratulations on the new car, I agree with not wanting to mod the car except for the quietness of the exhaust IMHO, regardless I’m sticking to stock for now.
