Wow, I'm 50 and I can't imagine starting over with kids! Congratulations and Good luck to you. You might want to think about getting a mainline installed so you can absorb Monster Energy drinks faster, LOL!
Anyway, I would recommend finding a cheap SUV to drive for the winter. We all like to be tough guys and drive our cars through the winter, but somehow I wouldn't feel so tough struggling to get up a hill in the snow, or high centered on a small pile of snow. Sure, they are light years better than the RWD cars we drove in winter when we were younger, but we also were usually in no rush to get anywhere. Might not be the case with a young one in the house at midnight in a snowstorm.

I DD a 2018 ZL1.i live up in Southeast Alaska. But if the snow on the ground is higher than my front lip I usually will take the truck, but I currently run the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS. Super great all season tire for year round driving. The girl drives her challenger RT year round too so it’s definitely doable if you know what you’re doing.

As some said. For SERIOUS winter I wouldn’t advise it. But our winters here are mild and we get inches of snow from time to time and the ZL1 when driven responsibly is just like any other daily Rwd car.

I have A beater truck so that my girl and I have something to rip around in seriously crap weather or when we need things hauled. But usually the Z gets out to enjoy the cold air. Lol.

Good luck!

Corvette is out of the picture now I like to drive my car year round, would in be possible in a ZL1, and do they make proper winter tires.

Hey...CONGRATULATIONS! What ever you decide (ZL1...Vette) please keep your car if it is a dream car for you! My father sold his brand new 1963 split window after 2 years when my mother got pregnant with my oldest sister....he regretted selling his dream...make it work brother! Snow tires...chains....or just lock her up for the winter....but keep the dream!

Thanks for the kind words! Looks like I am buying the ZL1. It is a 2019 loaded for a great price, $72,000 Canadian or $55,000 US. It has 50 miles on it...

5150, that’s a good deal on that 2019 ZL1 and one of my favorite colors! Satin Steel Gray! You won’t regret buying it and you will definitely enjoy driving the beast! Just get a second set of tires/wheels so you can drive it in Canada where you are. Let us know if you get it!

Great fun in snow. Michelin Pilot Apin's for me. They work great. I went with a 19" Rims and 245 tires all around. Drove pretty good in dry as well. Maine winters did not stop it.
