Listen the 19s were selling so bad that I was offered a better deal on the 2019 2SS convertible that the 2018 2ss convertible than they still had on the lot. Same color and same options.

You are right, the risk to get a problematic TC is too high and as I am looking at some 2020 models with different color combinations... I might be able to live with that
More reasons to convince my wife to keep the current 2018 yellow 2.0T (for design, color, MPG) and get a fun V8 for the weekends |

If you're getting an auto there's no way I'd get that trash Aisin 8SP so 2020 it is.

That GM 8L90 trans is perfectly good and stout, the torque converter can go bad if the incorrect initial fluid isn't flushed out in time, but so far I haven't seen a single person post here whose car had TSB 18-NA-355 (flush with new 2019 fluid) performed and the shudder would've returned. The A10 is the better transmission, no question about it, but the difference is much less than some here insinuate. To the OP: I for one couldn't live with a '19 front and rear. I have seen and examined tens of them on dealer lots and out on the road, it is not as extremely bad in person as in photos, but I still can hardly stop my eyes from wandering off those cars because of how displeasing their front/rear ends look to me. This is not to say the '19 or the '20 is ugly in absolute terms, but if you buy one and you don't like it, it's what you will be staring at as long as you keep the car. A torque converter can always be fixed, and in fact it will, under warranty, if need be, but to fix ugly completely, you'll easily be in the thousands (front bumper, rear bumper, taillights, harnesses, potentially even headlights). On the other hand, the '19+ has very nice electronic upgrades, new infotainment, higher res gauge cluster, camera mirror, configurable launch control, all of which you'll love if you're into this sort of thing.

Surprised there's still 2018s left on lots. Lol at all the bickering over which front end looks best still going on.
It's an individual preference thing but it is pretty telling of what the mass consensus was being that the 19s were changed asap, so while it's dumb for the 16-18 guys to crap on the 19s, being that the people who bought them obviously like them, it's possibly even dumber when the 19 guys say the 16-18s are uglier. 2020s are a pretty good compromise imo. All three look good, different strokes for different folks. Besides who cares if he's getting the "wrong" front, he's obviously not getting the right trans.... m6 ftw!!!! lol
