Lgx coolant temp & oil temp issue

2016 lgx

So all of a sudden my oil temp and coolant temp screens on my dash show null values and the ecu runs the fan in safe mode. Heat is coming out of the vents when I want so I know the thermostat is fine.

I know there is a common yet oddly mysterious wire breaking issue some ss owners have mentioned here but would that also cause the oil temp to show null? I don't see any broken wires but maybe I'm missing something, most previous posts have been about the ss.

Engine bay wasn't hosed down and there aren't critters making their home in it.

Any ideas?

So I threw my x-431v on it and it had a number of dtc's set, but it was saying the car wasn't running any updated check since the last failure on the temp sensors.

I read the temp sensor directly and it was reporting correctly.

So I cleared all the dtc's and everything is fine again. Temps being reported and all.

Guess I'll keep an eye on it.

Don't know the reason but it has happened to others including me with the LGX. I had a point where it would go out every day, I would just keep unplugging the negative off the battery for the reset but it seemed to just stop happening after a bit. Hasn't happened in months now.
