It's close to that now in CA. When they switch to the "winter" formula they charge us more. When they change back to the "summer" formula they charge us more. And the state and local govt. already charges us more for their cut.

It must be the 70's in October surcharge or something...

I no longer have it due to engine issues and back to a Camaro now. I also have a V6, the SS was way too much money for me earlier this year when I traded the GT in. Still I netted 30K cash for the trade in so I did not do too bad. I would love a new LT1 but my budget is too tight and I drive too many miles- plus it requires premium fuel. If it took regular fuel I would be more likely to consider one.
There’s a 2020 1SS 90 miles away for $36k but $3,000 today is a lot more than that after sales tax, insurance(especially based off MSRP like it should be) and interest over the life of a loan. For a second I thought you’d have to be crazy to buy a new V6 at this point but they create these price levels for people on a budget who just can’t/won’t go any higher.

As for the SS guys chiming in, ya I didn’t expect that level of douche from a fellow Camaro owner. I wasn’t looking for their stamp of approval and didn’t think I phrased that post in that way at all. It’s not my problem if they’re stuck with more car than they wanted.

Cars that recommend running premium, you should. My 2017 Fiesta ST I ran 89 octane in it and it ran like crap. Much better when I switched to 93. I'm on a tight budget so I can retire in 5-6 years so getting a more expensive car that needs premium is not a good decision. I'm in this situation and don't have enough for retirement now because of my car passion all of my life and spending money on cars. But I would not change it- I have owned and driven so many nice cars and learned so much. I know this much- -Camaro is on the list as one of my top cars. If I were further from retirement I would for sure own an SS a 1LE.

Yep. In my area of SoCal, the 76 station down the street currently has Regular 87 at $4.59/gallon (!!).

$2.59 here. The more I hear about California the more I wonder why people live there.

I'm sure you think that about Minnesota though. 🤣

Easy. Weather is awesome here 90% of the time. I love the outdoors. End of story.

It’s insanity. There is no good reason that we are paying 50pct more for gas.

There is a good reason. People keep voting the jerks who make the insane laws back into office. Change the state government and I bet your problems start disappearing....

Exactly, people voted for the gas tax (I sure as hell didn't).

Totally agree. There are several politicians in Cali that keep getting re-elected. It is mind boggling that they got elected in the first place.

Thank God they took the time to rename manhole covers.

don't forget we pay about a 60 cents per gallon tax on a gallon of fuel.
