I use a sun shade too. My detector is mounted to the rear view mirror with the wire tapped into it. My sun shade has a notch where the mirror is, so it goes on just fine and helps hide the mirror mount.

Good choice and to answer your question, not hard at all. Search YouTube for videos of installation of the Wire Tap or just get the Gen5DIY cable that is Plug n' Play.

What rear view mirror mount are you all using with the 2019 ZL1 camera mirror since blendmount doesn’t have anything out yet??

I would imagine it's the same one for the 2018, I have a 1LE with PDR and it works fine. Good choice on the R3, I've had one for the last year and the range of that thing is amazing. In fact because of this thread I ordered an R7 and am going to regift it to my truck to replace an aging (noisy) Escort. It came today and I ran around looking for the local PD and it didn't disappoint, the arrows are icing on the cake, the thing if huge compared to the R3 though.

Uh, just going by the website, 2019 ZL1 lists as BNR-2027 same as the 2SS. YMMV

* - A note to anyone swapping an R3 for an R7 on an existing Blendmount kit, it will sort of fit but you'll need to replace the clip to a BR7-UC3 as the volume buttons are not really accessible, the slot is father back.

Finally pulled the trigger and got myself an R7 for Christmas.

I went with the Blendmount part# BR7-2027 after much research. I think this is the one for thr C7 Corvette and it fits my 2018 Camaro perfectly.
